Water heater support

If you have a moho that has the water heater mounted down low and is supported in one of the roto cast compartments this is for you. Mine is a 2017 329. The water heater was very poorly supported inside this compartment and was causing problems. I went in and put some better support. I recommend everyone check theirs. I will keep an eye on it to see if it needs tweaked..I took the water pump out, makes this job MUCH easier.Click image for larger version

WH

It was poorly supported from the factory..It wasn't sitting level like it is in the pic..the back end was way down and causing the outer door to not close properly..I put the new supports under it to hold it more level.

Hope you used some type of adhesive to hold those together and some on the mounting surface otherwise with the bouncing around and such your stacks may come tumbling down.

The boards are nailed together with galvanized nails. The bottom one is screwed in from underneath.

That should do it. I only mentioned it because I had to keep positioning the black 2X4's FR installed till finally gluing and nailing in place.

Water heater support

This problem is probably true on most FR Motorhome, was true on our 2011 378 and there were many threads on here about the problem. Saw the same on a recent thread on a 2017 unit, so I suppose it never changes. Your mod is the same one that has been around for quite a while and it seems it has to be “rediscovered” every couple of years. To bad FR won’t adequately fix this known problem.

See thread Waterheater outside body panel dated 4/2. Same problem.

The supports on mine failed and broke the screws holding the body panel covering the water heater. It's at the dealer now getting fixed.
