What's wrong with residential fridge?

Help!! About to leave for a 7 day trip. We have a 2014 328TS. We have a 15 amp converter plug to keep the residential fridge on/cool down if we go on a trip. Also have an inverter. Got to the rig....green light on inverter is off, fridge is off and plug is still in. Turned inverter on, fridge turned on....fridge starts to make a noise and kicks inverter and fridge off. Help! What's going on? Plug is in this whole time.

Our rig is at a storage place, parked outside and there are 20 amp plugs available. We use a converter.

When your coach is plugged in to a shore power the inverter is designed not to be used to power the refridge. The inverter is only in use when running on battery power.
You could try running the fridge on shore power with an extension cord to see if the fridge is drawing too much amperage.

Our inverter went out and the fridge would only run when we had external power -- either plugged into shore power or the generator running.

I could turn the inverter on, not from the remote switch, but at the inverter itself. But, once i turned the fridge on and it only had the batteries to pull from... no joy.
