Just confirmed reservations at Sundance RV park Cortez CO. Planning on 6 nights out of the smoke in central CA starting on the 17th of October. Temps in the mid 60’s, that’s down right freezing for us!

At the campgeound try the Mexician resterant next door.
Never had a bad meal there. They may have their new cover over the patio by the time you arrive.

My main campground is now the driveway behind my house. We do foster care and picked up a couple of extra kids at the beginning of Covid. As a result, I got booted out of my office so it could become a bedroom. Intern, the Georgetown became my full-time office.
Honestly… It’s turned out to be a better office than the one in the house. If I could figure out a way to get a sewer hook up to the RV it would be perfect. I’m just too cheap for that.
Well we didn’t get as much travel time this summer in the RV due to Covid, I’m certainly getting plenty of use out of it. :-)

I hope so!
I was checking the weather for Cortez today. Highs in the upper 60's, low's in the low 30's-high 20's. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! We haven't had the coach in the 40's! I don't think the wife and I have EVER seen temps in the twenties. I guess we'll get a chance to try out the arctic packs!

We took Iggy’s advice and are at the Sundance RV park in Cortez CO. Two days, 959 miles from home. Great park! Real close to everything we want to see as well.

We were in Navare Beach late last January after a trip to Padre Island and Jamaica Beach and Galveston area all in Texas. It was cold and so windy with tornado one night. We thought we would head to Florida for a little warmer weather! It was in the high 20’s and low 30’s several nights in Navaroe. We heard it was wonderful in warmer weather! That is a great campground!! Just was not a good month for us in January. Enjoy!

The general wisdom is you need to be around Tampa or south for warm weather in those months. We stayed in Crystal River in January and switched it to March for this winter. Crystal River was in the low 40's and high 30's on a few nights in January. People there said it was in the 40's during the day in the previous January and they stayed inside almost the entire month. It still was a lot warmer than northern Michigan where they were from.

I learned my lesson and we are going to stay Jan 10 to Feb 8 or so in Sunshine Key. Although in 2004 we stayed at Marathon 10 feet from the water and it was in the 40’s and was setting record lows. . Sometimes it just Happens!!

That's still about 30 degrees warmer than home, and no shoveling!

Last December in Naples it was mid to high 80's almost every day. The locals were dying and said it's never that hot during December.

Just returned from 6 days in Cortez CO. Took Iggy's advice and stayed at the Sundance RV park in the middle of town. Great little park, quiet and a super place to stage from to see the area.
Nearly 2,000 miles and we didn't have a single issue, and I mean none! We even had the opportunity to run the heat strips for the first time as well as the Artic Pac feature.
And the advice about the "Mi Mexico" restaurant right outside the park was spot on! Didn't have a bad meal!

I think the lowest we had was 29-30 degrees.
It was never windy in the mornings so not to bad.
Thanks again for the tip! It is a great park.
