Who will get the 1st GT with the NEW 7.3L V8?
Not sure if you know Ford has come out with a new engine fore the F53 motorhome chassis. It also will be installed in many of the Ford Super Duty trucks.
It will replace the V10 engine.
The 2020 7.3L V8 uses regular gas, has 2 valves per cylinder.
350HP and 468 ft lbs of torque with the new 6 speed transmission.
So far it the talk of the town.
My 2012 Ford V-10 has 3 valves per cylinder.
362 HP and 457 ft lbs of torque with a 5 speed transmission.
So anyone want to add to this?
Only facts about the new engine please.

I've seen at least one Class C Sunseeker with the new engine on Facebook. So it can't be too far off. I think the new engine will be a beast and pretty awesome eventually . . hopefully great for new owners but I'm kind of glad we got the mature V10 with ours.

No. The Ford web site is saying the 2020 F-53 motorhome stripped chassis with 7.3L V8 comes with the 6 speed transmission. The same is true for the 2021 E-350/450 cutaway chassis.

The individual would have no reason to lie. There are quite a few motorhomes already listed at dealer lots with the 7.3. We are well into the 2021 model year.

Forest River already had to recall sixty-two FR3's with the new V8 chassis. There was a new wiring harness for the leveling jacks and the parking brake lockout switch wire was a different color than had been used for a few decades and the lockout did not get wired up.
On a test drive somehow the driver leaned on the control panel and the jacks started coming down while in motion. FR caught it and recalled all of the ones with the new chassis to correct the wiring. It took FR four days from detection to diagnosis to voting for a recall, which is pretty good to me.

What I have read the F-53 won't have the 10 speed but the 6 speed.
Only the pickup will get the 10 speed

Some of the advantages is reduced weight, serviceability and a much stronger block.
Will it make less noise or work less climbing hills only time will tell.
Many engine upgrade builders show how strong the engine is by increasing hp and torque with a few engine mods.
The engine nickname is Godzilla because of its strength it has.
Seems like a good Ford decision at this time.
I plan to drive a motorhome with the engine when one arrives locally.

Performance-wise the new engine looks like a real winner. Let's see how it does out-of-the-box as far as problems and reliability.

I dunno... the V-10 is a tried and true workhorse that has been around for more than 20 years. We have the standard 6.8L 305HP 420 ftlb torque in our 32' Forester, which is plenty of power for the 14.5K GVWR. Honestly we really don't need any more power even when towing my Dodge Durango. It runs smooth and cool, and can keep up with most class A's up the mountains. I added a Scangauge to monitor transmission temp (also gives exact engine coolant temps) and I'v never seen the tranny up more than about 10 degrees or so when climbing.
Personally if I were buying a new smaller rig and had the choice, I would stay with the V-10 at least for the next few years. I am reminded of all the trouble Ford had with their early 6.0L diesel. It seems they are motivated by sales numbers to rush new engines to market trying to spur sales. I'd rather wait a while, myself. But at least for bigger rigs when you start getting closer to 20K GVWR and up, this new V-8 will probably be a welcome addition. Personally, though, I would not want to be an early adopter.

I'm really interested in this new engine. I'm going to be in the market for a new pickup sooner than later, and although I've got a Duramax diesel right now, and I really am a diesel fan, this new 7.3l gas has my attention.
I think if Ford can keep the accounting department out of the engineering department, it should be a good engine. Time will tell.

It’s funny. The Ford brochure brags about the new V8 engine, but the chassis photo on page 3 clearly shows a 5 port exhaust manifold on the visible side of the engine. In fairness, it does say “2019 vehicle shown”.

Thanks, Michael. Is Forest River including or offering any of the optional equipment I've read about such as the stability control, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, etc?

No Ray. None of those options are available on the Forest River rigs.
I have attached to FR Brochures for the Georgetown 5 Series and the the 7 Series.
They are old as they say 2020 with the V10 engine and the 2021 models are out.

I’ll just say the video gets me excited about a new rig. The engine seems close enough in performance to be immaterial. That said the suspension changes sound great. Especially the reduced roll. Glad to see some change coming to this beast.

Spec and performance wise I think the new V-8 will be a lot better than the V10. And don't get me wrong. I really like the V-10. But like you said Ford and most other companies haven't been hitting home runs out of the gate when it comes to reliability and avoiding some big issues. Like you, i'm happy to not be an early adopter.

I fail to see all the hype when they made 7.5, 50 years ago. Those specs are a far cry from a Diesel, torque at 468 is at 4000 rpm, while the Diesel is 1050@1800. Twice as many revolutions and less than half the torque. Let’s face it revolutions are wear.
