Birds Hill P.P.
Another hard day at the beach!! I hope I can upload more than 1 picture at a time in a single post. Could only do 1 per post yesterday ??
Same as yesterday 1 per post, can't figure out what I am doing wrong? Is it because I am doing it from an iPad ??

Here are a few photos taken at Coyote CreeK Golf & RV Resort, Sundre, AB.
Full hook-ups including 50amp, Wi-Fi, very large, level, gravel pads. Pull-thru sites are available. Spotlessly clean bathrooms. Very quiet location surrounded by a golf course. Only a few minutes walk through Crown land to the river. Pretty good bar meals available at the golf club. Friendly, accommodating staff at the resort and GC.
This is our "close to home weekend away" place. $43 per night.

The Lodge at Panther River, Sundre, AB
This place is about 40km south-west of Sundre and involves driving down a forestry road. We stayed here for the May long weekend but left a day early after a prediction of 10 - 20 cm of snow.
This place has full hook-ups with 50amp power at many of the sites. Free, unlimited firewood, extremely quiet on a night. Helicopter flights available from the lodge. Excellent meals cooked at their lodge facilities. Very clean bathrooms. No Wi-Fi or OTA tv if that is important to you. Absolutely no grocery stores until you get to Sundre, so pack all what you need and bring it with you.
I believe it was about $45 per night.

Riverside CG, Kimberley, BC
Riverside CG, Kimberley, BC is about 20 minutes north of Cranbrook, 2 hours from the US/Canada border crossing at Kingsgate and about 4 - 4.5 hours from Calgary.
They have a large number of sites, including pull-thus, PW only or FHU including 50 amp. Water pressure and power were good on the two separate occasions we stayed there. Sites are primarily gravel and level but can take some careful planning to reverse a 40' 5er in there.
There is limited OTA tv and Wi-Fi only at their hotspots. There is a pool and mini-golf but we didn't look into those. Picnic benches and fire rings are at most, if not all sites. The bathrooms are clean and serviceable. I don't recall what the showers are like because we used the onboard facilities
If you have young children and or pets I would recommend not staying in the River View sites. True, they have a view of the river BUT it is about 60 - 80' down a pretty sheer drop.
Deer roam through the park which is pretty peaceful - dependant upon your neighbours.

You'd be better off boon docking at Cabbalas or Walmart rather than saying there. For a major city, camping adjacent to Calgary sucks. There isn't one place I would stay in the city limits. A few places around Calgary, such as Okotoks and Cochrane have decent campgrounds and facilities but nothing very close to Calgary.
If anyone is thinking of coming here I'd really recommend taking a good look at RV Park Reviews.com before making any plans
