I don't know which way you are travelling up to Grande Prairie, but either on the way up or the way back I would stop in Drumheller. If you have grandchildren with you they would love the Tyrell Museum. Totally dinosaurs. From there you can go down south to the Buffalo Head Jump then to the boarder. Both of these places are on highway 2/2a south. Another alternate route is Grande Prairie, highway 43 south to Whitecourt west over highway 32 to Peers then Jasper. Drive through Jasper, Lake Louise, Banff and you will connect to Calgary. You can see the Calloway Park outside of Calgary then to the boarder. Or you can go west from the park gate at Lake Louise and go into BC to Golden, Radium Hot Springs, Windermere, Elko then into Montana. Did you get an Alberta Map? If not get one along with camping in Alberta book. Tells you all about the campsites. Hope this helps. Have fun on your trip and drive safe.
