Question Halfway Lake Provincial Park (Ontario)

I'm staying there later this month for 4 nights. I camped (tented) back in the late 80s/early 90s. There was a bad windstorm that went thru and caused a lot of damage I think in '02. Has anyone camped there since? I'm just curious as to what to expect. The campground was closed for a couple of seasons after that.

My wife and I are originally from Sudbury which is not too far away from there. We moved out east is '99. I have never camped there but I do recall a big wind storm going through that area probably more mid '90s that did a lot of damage over a pretty big stretch of that area. I used to travel to Timmins and points beyond for work and can recall seeing all the trees down along the highway. I used to do a lot of fishing up that way along the Spanish River with my father-in-law. Hope you enjoy.

I haven't been thru that area since the late 90s. Friends used to live in Timmins & when I'd go up for a weekend's visit, I'd drive up from southern Ontario on 69 & 144, then come back on Monday using 11 & 12.

I remember camping there in the late 80's or early 90's. Hardtop trailer, wife , kids and self. We really enjoyed it especially when we were swimming and a water bomber picked up a load by skimming from the far end of the lake towards us and rising out of the water at a distance that we thought was remarkably close. What a great experience for us and the kids. Now you have me thinking about a return trip there someday. You rascal. Have fun. Old Guys

The wind storm was in '02 but its evidence is still visible. Also, there was a forest fire in '07 which touched the south end of the lake. I'll try to post some of my pics on Webshots.

My brother was a Junior Ranger there in '81. I didn't realize that was the 2nd year that it was open.
