RV Insurance in Ontario, Canada
I'm wondering who Ontarians (Ontario, Canada) insure their campers with. I'm with Echelon but I find their communications lacking and they screwed up my initial billing. Not sure that I want to trust them if I ever had the misfortune to have to make a claim. Rates are good though.

Explorer RV Club
I've been with https://www.wayfarerinsurance.com/ for many years and find them very good to deal with. There is a discount when you are a member of the Explorer RV Club who publishes a very good RV magazine which is included with your membership.

This is the one my broker put me in It also goes by AVIVA I have never filled in such a comprehensive application form, it was also the first time I was asked if the trailer was CSA approved which fortunately it is. You never really know how good they are till you need them and at the time it is too late.

Used Aviva insurance company through my broker for last 8 years. Best rates for full replacement insurance.

I use Allstate for home & auto and have a rider on my auto for my trailer.
Maybe not the cheapest but good service & an office here in Ottawa.

I am with State Farm also. However, you should know that State Farm was recently purchased by Desjardins Group.

I live in Alberta and have used Co-Operators Insurance out of Barrie Ontario for quite some time. Excellent response and communication, and actually help move the claims faster by "chasing" after the RV Dealership for repairs.

For RV insurance, you have a choice of Wayfarer, Aviva and Echelon. You go to any other insurance company and they go to Aviva. Wayfarer is Aviva. Echelon is totally different. I got Echelon through a local insurance broker and it was almost half of Wayfarer and Aviva for what they gave. No problems when you are dealing with a local broker for service. No screw up with billing and claims are made through the local broker.

I have had Intact Insurance for years for our RV's. I've never had a problem with billing or on the two occasions where we had to make claims. We're in eastern On.

I found Wayfarers to be a rip off. Even after paying $40 for the Explorer magazine (which I don't care for) their rates were still $300 higher than Echelon General.

This is similar to the rates I was quoted by my broker. $224 for Echelon vs. over $400 for Aviva.
