Toronto area campgrounds

We are planning a month long trip to Canada This summer. We wii be Coming from Louisiana and we will probably stay in the Toronto area.

Looking for full hookup campground recommendations. This will be our first trip to Canada so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello Retire ,

I am from close to Toronto about 75 miles west.

Best bet for Full Service is Milton Heights Campground or Milton KOA. These are not that close to the city. There are some private parks north of Toronto but even further out. Cooksville KOA is one my friend Doug is seasonal at.

There is River Rouge in toronto but is packed.

Not many RV parks closest to Canada's Largest.

The Milton is close as if you go into the city you can head about 10 miles south to the Go Train station and take the train into Toronto.

Lots of things to do close to Milton.

Where I live in Waterloo Region we have Old Order Mennonite culture. Farm markets, roadside stands. IMHO way better than Goshen area.

German Market fare as well.

Green Acre Park in Waterloo is very nice. Bingeman Park in Kitchener has the regions Water Park.

I live in Wilmot and With Valley Park is close to Stratford Festival home of Shakespeare and other theatre shows.

All the best finding a spot. We spend most of Summer time in Provincial Parks boon docking with Hydro (Electricity) all over Ontario, in the forest, by the great lakes.

We found 70 or so of 80 nights away in provincial parks.

Toronto area campgrounds

The 2 major highways west of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) are the 401 and the QEW. Milton is up near the 401.

If you are looking for something down around the QEW, Fifty Point Conservation Area has full hook ups.

Do be aware that traffic, as you get within 100k of Toronto, is horrible.. If you plan on exploring the city, I would agree with the transit recommendation. From Fifty Point, head to Burlington and catch the Go Train.
