Hi tenttotrailer, Norm here. Milady and I spent a week on Manitoulan Island a few years ago. We stayed at Providence Bay Tent & Trailer Park and really enjoyed our time there. There is an awesome public beach there. We went to sleep at night with the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. Once you get set up, the island is there to explore, everything is an easy drive. We took the ferry there and took the northern drive home. Ferry cost was a deal-breaker for me and we weren't towing. (tenting then) You can find the ferry costs online. Also, there are some great PPs on the way if you want to break up your trip (Oastler Lake, Kilbear, Grundy Lake) My Dad and other relatives are buried at Providence Bay so there was a personal connection for me as well. We had a serendipitous connection with some amateur historians there that led us to visiting my great-great grandfather's homestead! Anyway, if you have any questions, feel free to ask here or PM me.
