Truck Tires in Canada
Hey all - not technically a trailer question, but the truck is my TV so...
Moved back to Ottawa. Already seeing tire spin issues on wet roads with my 2500 6.7L diesel. It came with Firestone Transforce A/T. Thinking they won’t work in the winter here.
What do y’all use? GY Duratrac? BFG KO2?
I want to have good snow, some off-road, and still be quiet on the road with good support for pulling the 8000 lbs trailer.

You definitely won't have "quiet" with either of the 2 tires you listed...they'll give you good traction, but you will notice the road noise. Both are little overly aggressive and knobby tread. Also hailing from Canada and very familiar with ice and snow. I opted for Michelin when I replaced my tires last fall. While they are extremely quiet and great on the highway and all around in summer, they are not that great on snow and ice. This is my second go round with Michelin and will be my last.

I donno about a good wet/snow tread that's also really quiet... Consumer Reports rates tires for traction and noise. You might try reading what they say. Good luck!

Take a look at the Toyo Open Country C/T or their many other options in the Open Country line. It's one of the others I was considering when I was shopping and now wish I had explored that route further.

Take a look at the Nokian lineup.
I’ve had their winter tires on my ‘11 Avalanche and ‘15 Chev 1500, as well as our cars. Excellent in the snow and ice.
Their All Weather tires have very good reviews but I haven’t put them on my ‘20 2500 yet, but plan to.

I've used Michelin LTs 10 ply on my F250 and on my previous F150s
current set I had on my 16 Ecoboost and moved to my 2018 250. they are run year round.
they have over 100,00 kms on them with lots of tread left.

Costco has Bridgestone https://tires.costco.ca/Product?Item...pect=75&rim=17 that should fit your vehicle. Also you get a $100.00 Costco cash card with the purchase of 4 tires.
I put the Bridgestone Dueler's on my truck and like them. Not too much road noise.

I think I can help here as I live in said town and just made the switch myself last winter  . These All weather tires by Toyo tires performed amazingly well over the last year for me. To the point that I didn't bother putting on the one year old winter Blizzacks i have on my 2 wheel drive half ton . Yes, Michelins will have a very good tread life, but the traction in snow and ice leaves a lot to be desired.

Couple of observations:
Pickup Trucks are notoriously light in the rear compared to cars.
I have owned 7 trucks from every American manufacturer. And driven a slew of military off road vehicles. I missed the Hummer days after my time. 
The worst one was a 1995 Dodge Dakota 4X4 with the 318. In the slightest rain when starting from a stop light I just shifted into 4 wheel drive. Every time. Otherwise wheel spin. No matter the tires I ended up with almost 200,000 miles on it. Forget ice or snow.
I am sure some tires are better than others of course. But, it is the nature of the beast.
Your mileage may vary.

I just put a set of Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3s on my F250. The OEM Michelins performed poorly in wet grass or snow.

I liked my Toyo open country AT II on my diesel
Ram 2500
That said I also had a set of Nokian vatiiva on my 96 ram 2 wheel drive. Another excellent tire. And all did well in southern Ontario winters.
Most insurance companies will now give you a winter tire discount with an all weather tire. Different than all season. The Toto open country does have the mountain snowflake so they will save you a few bucks on the insurance side.

I’ve had several sets of Nokian tires on several vehicles and really liked the performance. Great in snow, ice and unbeatable in slush. I’m actually looking to put a set of Nokian One HT on my class C motorhome.
