Difference between 2011 DS 255 and DS 265

Hi:

Will pick up a 2011 Lexington DS 255 in a couple of days. Tried to find information about some of the details I forgot to check when looking at the unit. When I tried to find info on the web, I can only find information about the DS 265. It is the same length and floorplan at the 255. Can anyone tell me what is the situation?

Thanks.
Bob

Difference between DS 255/DS 265

Hello I just bought a 2011 DS 265 (27'). I also have the floorplan for the previous DS 255 (26'). The difference is one foot in the bedroom; in the 255, the bed had NO space on either side of it. This was a source of much moaning by owners who had no space to access their bed from the side; no place to set their morning cuppa. Bed linens messed constantly by slideout motion and bedding scraping the walls.... It's something you can live with but just a poor design.

The new, longer 265 has a small 6" ledge with outlets on both sides of the bed. This means I can store my dustbuster and keep it charged and use the extra storage space that gives you.

Also, the storage wardrobe is one foot wider and, of course, your outside storage compartment is much bigger. A very worthy modification.

Have you taken delivery yet of your rig? I am on my Maiden Voyage now!

Maiden voyage over!

Thanks for the input. Yes, spent a week in Fort Myers area and found a couple of problems that have already been fixed by dealer. Like the rig, rides comfortably and is easy to drive. Would like a bit more space, a place to put the soap in the shower, and a place to hang a towel in the shower area. Entire shower area is a bit tight. In any case, "Lexi" will be the travel ticket for a long time.

Thanks again for input.

Maiden Voyage over...already?

Agree with all your observations. Shower IS a bit cozy. Mine had a towel bar installed on door but no TP dispenser or toothbrush holder! Found the hardware in a cab and did it myself. Since I have lady things to take care of, I mounted a 3 dispenser soap thingy on the shower wall--'poo, condish and gelee. I know guys just need....soap!

Too bad your Ft Myers maiden voyage is over so soon! I've been on the road a week and plan to be out for 3 months. I used to live in the Ft Myers FL area (the Cape) and bought my RV from a dealer in Nokomis, FL.

Keep It Between The Lines

Good luck MovinSue. If any issues pop up with the Lexington how about a post?

Best to you.
