Dometic Refrigerator - How long to get cold?

We just bought a good used 2007 Lexing 283GTS and had it out for several days on a short trip. We had the frig on for 4 days and it just got down into the mid 40s for a temp. Generally how long should it take the frig to get down to the proper temp (around 40F) when on 120V household current? Thanks

Unit is a 2 door Dometic Model RM2652

24 hours minimum
One thing about those fridges is when you open the door you need to get what your looking for and get out.
Holding the door open for long periods warms it up quick.
Never put hot or warm items in there.
On propane seems to cool better.
Also get cooling fans installed.
Search ebay "dometic fan"
It'll be the double computer fan looking deal with bracket.

You might consider having the unit checked out by a qualified service tech. After 4 days it should have been down to around 34-38 degrees. Unless you had the thermostat set wrong.

Dometic Model RM2652

The temperature is automatically preset since there is no dial to change the temperature setting on this model.

Did you precool it before loading? Is your thermistor adjusted to the top (coldest setting) ? If yes to both, I would have it checked.

I will add a little to Bob's post.

Double check the fins in the upper part of your fridge....right below the freezer. Many models have a themistor that slide up or down to adjust the temperature.

Also, you might want to check with Dometic to see if your fridge is on a recall list. I think some of the RM2652 models were recalled.

Did your freezer get cold? If it was only your fridge that didn't get cold, I might suggest that your adjustable temperature slide is in the down position on the right side metal fin in your fridge. If so, merely slide the white plastic adjuster fully upwards which is suppose to make the fridge colder. As a previous poster said, your model fridge IS ON the recall list; I know because I have the same model and CW is fixing the problem with no charge. They will have to check the serial # to make sure. Good Luck

Are dealers still fixing this? I just acquired one that IS in the recall list and can't figure out if it's already been serviced. I'm like the 3rd owner.
