Question Water Heater question

We are the proud new owners of a 2004 23ft Class C Lexington. We are trying to determine if our water heater can run on electric or is it only able to run on LP gas?

It might help to know if your water heater is an Atwood or Suburban brand. These are usually the two models most people have.

If it is a Suburban, and you want to know if it can run on electric, open the access panel door outside your rig, and look to see if you have a small black rocker switch located in the lower left corner. It is often just slightly hidden by some of the propane tubing of the unit. You should also find a breaker inside the RV electrical panel identifying the circuit for the heater.

While you're in there, have a look around the perimeter and see if there is any labelling identifying what water heater model you have.

Changing the anode on a water heater. I understand some anodes may be of different size, requiring a specific size wrench for removal and replacement. To solve my quandry I simply dug into my supply of plumbing tools at home and got out the plumber's wrench set. It has a variety of sized wrench socket ends on it, one which should fit any size anode head.

Do you have a 15 amp circuit breaker in the electric panel marked HW or water?
OR
You can open the exterior cover and look to see if it has a black switch in the lower left have corner behind the gas line.

PLEASE REMEMBER: do not turn on the electric unless you have water in the tank.
