Ads Blocking Recent Discussions Menu

This morning I noticed when scrolling down the recent discussions menu the ads either block completely as shown here or partially block the list. Selecting a thread from the lower portion of the list does nothing. I have tried switching from Chrome to Microsoft Explorer and still get the same problem.

yep, it's aggravating me this morning, too.... not sure why 'all of a sudden' we members have ads blocking our views - we're not just the normal 'non registered' viewers who might expect it. FORUM ADMINS: get rid of 'floating' ads that cover the sections we want to see!

I don't have this issue. I do use "AdBlock" and "AdBlockPlus" on my computer.

X3, on the Add blocker+ works great. Right now I have blocked 12 adds just on this forum alone!

coincidense?

it might be a coincidence or be nothing at all, but last night, late 11PM EST or so I was unable to use the forum because of an ERROR MSG popup (chrome)... see #1

I tried Firefox and the same error came up in a different form. see #2

I finally quit trying after awhile, but this morning everything was good...

I use Adblocker on chrome normally...

Same problem here. I use the ad blockers .

I usually visit the forum on my iPhone or iPad.

Then there is the aggravating and intrusive pop up encouraging me to sign up for FRF emails. I am already signed up and if I try to do so again a message pops up telling me I am signed up!

I was also getting this using Chrome this morning...now they are gone!

Thanx to the powers that be!

As for those touting 'ad blockers', you guys always say this when these problems arise...

But as you can see, it was a problem with the website, so why keep telling us about ad blockers when there is a problem that the forum board needs to fix?

Download Disconnect.Me. Attach as an extension to your browser....any of them.

No more popups or ads.

OK...

It is a Google ad...and it has started up again in Chrome (image that?).

What has changed since I last was here earlier and the ads were no longer appearing is that I have rebooted my computer.

One other thing that is new...

Apparently, Chrome updated itself sometime between yesterday and this morning as it now looks a little different, and I keep getting a pop-up window from Chrome wanting to show me all of the new Chrome features.

Might have to go in a reset some of Chrome's settings...

Gonna try that in a few minutes...

OK...

I went into the settings on Chrome and most had been set back to 'Default'.

So I reset them to where they were and and opened a new window up, and the 'Chrome' window popped up asking me if I wanted to see all of the new Chrome features.

So I clicked on 'Show Me' and scrolled through a couple of pages...so now that is not popping up anymore.

But the ad is still popping up on the Forest River site, only now it is popping up below the 'Featured Article' window.

We'll see how long that lasts.
