can we have a like button
if some one replies to a thread
would be good to have a LIKE button so we can easily indicate that that reply was GOOD we liked it!
here is a like button in action on a boating forum I use
https://www.thehulltruth.com/boating...ng-fire-2.html

There is a “Thanks” button. Most people don’t use or may not know what it is for.

X2! In the big scheme of things nobody cares what someone likes or dislikes. Please, don't turn this forum into FB. Just use the "Thanks" button.

thanks is nice... I get some occasionally
The like button is good especially if someone gives advice / how to
we can then LIKE that post and it is indicated 5 people liked this answer
Otherwise we have to post a reply I agree with what xxxxx said.

Agree with the like button. When skimming a thread for advice, seeing a post that receives many likes a quick indicator of the best/most accepted advice given.

Use X2 like members have used for years. See post # 3 for an example.

I agree with brandon
But each time someone agrees / replies it just makes things more cluttered
better to have at the end of POST
Aussieuy, Brendan, G Washington, Jon Doe and 5 others Liked this post
Other wise you have to scroll through a bunch of replies to see who agrees/likes what someone said

I want to say we looked at this before and our forum software did not actually support it, but will look again.

Why does it matter how many posts you have to scan thru? I don’t know but for me the whole point of posting is if you can “Help” the op. When I open a post and multiple people have already posted I generally leave as there are already many cooks in the kitchen. I also leave a post that I’ve answered if too many cooks get in the kitchen or someone who has better info joins the post.
I just don’t know what a like button adds, just something else to decipher.

It makes things look more like Facebook for those that use it.
Just use the "insert image" tab on the reply window and post one of these if you insist:
Or not.

Yes, and many folks use it, but don't add a comment.
Receiving thanks is gratifying. I've received 325 of them. (You can see yours by going to UserCP, then Settings & Options|Edit Options.) There's an option there to automatically have that number displayed with your signature which useful for establishing the credibility of the poster. I've turned it on, but the Forum lords have not enabled it. This option would be serve the purpose of the Like button and could be easily enabled.
I'll flag my own post so the Forum lords see this.

The thanks button is just fine and you can add your like there. Just don't see the real purpose just another FB liker. Later RJD

I am thankful that threads like this don't last long. I like it that way.

The Thanks button doesn't really do what I would imagine the Like button to do. Thanks shows up in Users details. Like is typically a count of how many people appreciated the comment.

I use my phone 99.9% of the time for this forum and have never seen the thank you button or more importantly the rules / regulations for posting.
The sad thing is posts just get removed without notifications to the person that start the post.
