Thumbs down Emoticon Selection limited on this Forum

Is there any way that you guys can broaden the selection of emoticons available on this site? There doesn't appear to be anything that represents disagreement, being unsure, goodbye, doh!, thinking, clapping, broken heart, whistle, temptation, horror, yahoo!/towel wave, stormy weather, banging head against desk, and I could go on and on.

I belong to three other forums that use vBulletin software and they seem to have a broader array of emoticons that can be used. If you can come up with some more, that would be cool.

Many of the emoticons you mention are indeed there, some of which 5picker already pointed out. If you will look at the full list you may find what you want.

Also, you can use the image link or url link function and insert any 'appropriate' emoticon for a family friendly forum that your heart desires. You are not limited to just the list of smilies provided.

I'll have to experiment with that. Thanks! I just thought that as admins, you might have a wider variety available to you from the software that haven't been implemented.

No, the site team has the same as everyone. There are many websites full of emoticons, smilies, etc, that offer their links free to show up in forums.

Jay, are you clicking the "more" button at the bottom of the emoticons list to see the full selection?

Over at Open Roads Radio.net we have a HUGE selection of smileys.

And since we are now part of the Social Knowledge Network, you (admins) are welcome to "borrow" them, and load them up on FRF.

Some people think it rains too much.

Some think the biscuits are too hard.

Some think there are not nearly enough emoticons.

It's hard to make everyone content.

To answer your question, yes I have. I see all 63 of them. My point is that the selection is rather paltry compared to other sites I frequent. I moderate two forums... one with 76 emoticons and another that has 207! People do seem to enjoy them.

Someone has way too much time on their hands. Though I will admit, Jeff_and_Abby, that is pretty good!

Those are just a few of many, from a chat we used to spend time in ...

OBVIOUSLY, the minions bowing in umbrage to the Admin / Site Mod are totally intended to honor and respect the hard working crew that puts up with us here in FR Forum Land.
