Error Message When Posting Using Firefox

When replying to messages while using Firefox 89.0.2 64-bit on my desktop w/windows 10 I receive the following error message.

"The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 2 characters."

This has been happening for several months with prior updates.

I have to switch over to Chrome to send posts.

Attempting this "new thread" message using Firefox to see if it goes through.

EDIT- It did not. Had to post using Chrome.

Using the same browser version and no issues. Might be a font setting so it is not seeing the text.

When I get that message, it's usually when I have only quoted something and not added new text.

I have not changed any font settings. Fields read "fonts" and "sizes."

Attempting in Firefox as a "Quick reply" and not "post reply."

EDIT- Did not help. Still had to switch to Chrome.

You speak true. I wish other forums I frequent would employ this feature.

Searching this issue it seems to be a common thing with Firefox and vBulletin message boards. I found posts all the way back to 2015 on other boards about the same issues.

A few fixes to try:

Try clearing your cache.

Disable your FireFox extensions one at a time and see if you can spot the culprit.

Cache and cookies cleared regularly. Just shut off "Privacy Badger"


Edit- Privacy Badger was the problem! Will let them know it broke this website.

Awesome. Good to hear.

These problems are so difficult to track down because of the near infinite combination of different software applications that can have updates that cause some other piece of software to stop working correctly.

It is as WMTIRE stated.

This happens when you do not add any text after the above [/QUOTE]
I found this out when I attempted to make a reply and then just answer it within the quote, without any text after the [/QUOTE]. See example above.
