Forum Pop-Up Hijack

Im using an iPhone 8 iOS 11.4. I view the forum via forestriverforum.com in full site mode. Mobile site and App do not work for me.
Every so often I get this pop-up (photos below). I do not get it anywhere/anytime othere then when I am on this site. I always clear cache, cookies and history after I get it. When I do get it, it locks the screen. Any thoughts?

I use an app called “Ad Buster”. It has stopped all annoying popups on various sites for me. Occasionally, it will block something it shouldn’t, but I’ve never had it not block something it should.

I had the same problem on my last phone. Only happened on this site. Got a brand new phone and had the same issue. I now browse forums (this and a few others) in tapatalk -no more popups.

I have had this happen on this site and one other.

I’m not sure who/what is to blame, but it’s hapoened across phones for me (and I always start fresh w/ my phones).

Super annoying. Hope the Site Team can figure it out. Almost feels like a spam/back somehow.

I get that same pop up every time I view this site using Safari on my iPhone, but never while using Safari on my iPad. It is relentless and makes trying to view this site on my iPhone hopeless. I guess I should install tapatalk.

I did a tiny bit of reading on this- apparently it has to do with the ad network. But tracking down which ad causes it has got to be pert near impossible.

his is delivered via ads targeted at iphone users (safari) and is essentially a cookie set as you surf by the advertiser so they can show you more garbage. These ads are served up by google, and others and we have no real control or ability to block them.

Doing a reboot (which purges cookies) offers some short term relief but is not a real solution.

You can also configure safari to block some of these. Here's some help wit that: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203987

When I quit Safari and started using Firefox, I quit having most of this odd stuff. Oh, yeah... I also started using Adblock Plus on both my devices.
