Forum stopped working on Safari, adobe flashplayer out of date

This morning the forum stopped working properly on Safari, started getting weird 'flash player out of date' popups, that were from an unknown website. I immediately closed brower, went to Adobe site, and downloaded latest player, yet these suspicious popups trying to 'download latest player' keep happening (despite having latest player). Is this a virus?

I'm currently using Firefox, no problems. Went back on Safari, and the forum is hijacked by this website:

I have no idea if this is legit. ***Do NOT click on above link, I only cut and pasted it for informational purposes!

I edited the link so that's it's not clickable. Probably a bad idea to hotlink to a known bad site.

I don't own any apple products so I can't help but I'll see if I can send this to the higher-ups to look into.

Thanks, I tried to just cut and paste site address (didn't use hyperlink function) and to my surprise it showed as a hot link. Is that address a known bad site? A little window opens up in the same Forest River format as other windows I've seen that are legit, like when you get a new private message, then all the pop up madness.

I'm just going based on what you are saying happens when you click on it, that others probably shouldn't click on it either.

IDK if it's spam or malware or anything but I'm not going to test it to find out either.

I looked up some articles about this issue, the website that tries to get you to download is malicious. Do not use it to download flash player, it is a ruse to get you to download malware to your computer. I deleted all cookies, but it has not helped. It has completely taken over any attempts to use forest river site on Safari.

I think this is a type of adware that usually comes from Adobe Flash Player. Flash Player is notorious for being hacked to add adware and spyware.

Do you have any kind of malware/anti-virus software on your computer? If not, you might want to check out Malwarebytes. There is a free version that works pretty well.

I stopped using Safari quite a while ago because it would not work properly on certain websites. I have been using Firefox ever since with no problems.

When I bought my MacBook, I was told that adding anti-virus would slow it down and provide no benefit, that the OS is designed to combat viruses and the like.

I will look into the Malwarebytes.

I have had similar issues with Safari, none with Firefox.

It's a common misconception that Macs never get viruses or malware. I usually have a couple of different antivirus or anti-malware programs running in the background and don't have a problem with them slowing down my computer.

Another possibility is that Adobe's FlashPlayer is being phased out by all browsers. As time moves on, they will only get more reluctant to run the FlashPlayer. Nothing the end user can do about this, the website has to update their pages to move off Flash and on to something else.

I did a search on the App store for malwarebytes, and it did not come up. I did upload the app "Antivirus X-Out", which had very good reviews, and paid for a 'one time clean' for 5 bucks after it found 3 'threats'. It didn't work. Even though a subsequent scan showed no threats.

I foolishly clicked on the same link you received and then my Safari browser was hijacked by one called service manager, which is a malware. I had to download CCleaner and go through a lot of trouble to clean out other downloads related to this malware. It took a lot of online searching, but I was finally able to delete everything and get it back to Safari.

Malwarebytes is free. Just type it in and download. My son Ricky was able to do it. I use Macs and Safari and it is working fine. You can try clearing History as possibly the FRF being so popular has Grand Design wanting those eyes instead.

This is really weird. Lady from Antivirus X emailed me back asking for screenshots of the issue and some other settings, and now the issue is not happening.
