FR Pages FREEZING

FRF pages keep freezing when using Google Chrome. NO OTHER forum freezes.

PLEASE Fix the Problem!

My first inclination would be that it's something on your end. So far you're the only person to report this problem. In fact, I browse the site using Chrome every single day with no problems.

We would need more info to even start to diagnose the problem as well.

Have you done a virus/malware scan lately? Are you running any sort of ad-blocking software?

When you say it "freezes" do you mean it just loads slowly or do you have to close the page and come back in again?

Have you tried clearing your browser's cookies/cache?

Sometimes it can be the adchoice ads, causing freezes when loading. Let me switch over to Chrome on this computer I'm currently on, which I intentionally do not block the ads on, to see if that could be a problem.

Will edit this reply after I test.

[QUOTE=Iwritecode;1796867]My first inclination would be that it's something on your end. So far you're the only person to report this problem. In fact, I browse the site using Chrome every single day with no problems.

We would need more info to even start to diagnose the problem as well.

Have you done a virus/malware scan lately? Are you running any sort of ad-blocking software?

.......Yes, this happens regularly on my computer, using AVG

When you say it "freezes" do you mean it just loads slowly or do you have to close the page and come back in again?

.......It completely locks up and I must close the page. When this happens every
other tab which is open still works correctly, including the Duramaxdiesel forum.

Have you tried clearing your browser's cookies/cache?

.......I have not tried this, but:

1. I usually have several pages and threads open when I open a FR thread by clicking on the oink in my email program (Thunderbird). I also open threads from the Duramaxdiesel forum using this method without having the problems I describe on the FR threads.

2. The other pages I have open at the time work perfectly prior to opening the FR thread.

3. After opening the FR thread and usually prior to even being able to post a reply the FR thread freezes, not even letting me scroll up and down within the thread.

4. The FR thread does close when I click on the "X" at the top right of that page.

5. Every other tab opened prior to opening the FR thread continues to operate properly. It does not cause me to have to re-boot my comupter

This does not sound like my computer, but a problem driven and caused by the FR site.

Douglas, is it all FRF pages that are freezing or have you noticed any certain thread. The reason I ask is there may be a link or embedded video causing strife in a certain post/thread.

Up until today it has been all FR threads, so far today it has not happened. That being said, I have not had the opportunity because of being away from my computer fro work I have not gone to many FR threads.

Interesting... I'd suggest that if it happens again, report back to us exactly what thread you were trying to view. Might help to narrow down the problem.
