I've been using "wa3pnt" because that is my Amateur Radio Call Sign and it "should" be a unique name.
However, since it does not mean anything to most people, could you please change my user name to "RodeoGeorge" here on the Forum.
Thank you in advance.

I just registered and was not to inventive with my user name. Could you please change my user name from vbsmith00 to sunseeker2. I tried to do this myself but could not find a means to do so. Thanks Vern

The site administrators can make the change for you or you can also make the request using the 'contact us' at the bottom of the screen.

Because of database primary and foreign keys and the elevated access levels that come along with it.
On top of that, I've been on forums with no sign up - you picked your user ID on the way in on each visit. Seeing "Other User is Stupid" wasn't helpful to anyone. Giving users the ability to change their user ID on a whim is a distant cousin but slightly related to that.

I am the only one who is inconvenienced (and it ain't much).
User name change requires Admin level access.
All posts and threads made by you are indexed to your username.
Since changes affect the entire forum, it is restricted to admin access on this board.

I wish I could say I didn't see things like that. But, that and "You Want Fries With That?" was a common one. Or "RTFM" was common (it was a programming board). There were others...
The other issue is that different people would get the same user name.

I did not even think about the fact there would be multiple people with the same user name, that would be a problem. rtfm, I was thinking what does that stand for.......now I get it, still trying to learn all the slang, DW, DD, DH ect!.
Great forum and tons of useful knowledge here, keep up the good work everyone!

I also check for "similar" user names so there is no confusion about who you are dealing with.
While Abe12345 may have meaning to you, you might get upset if someone was using Abe12346 and trashing your reputation.

I have a little different issue. I have two accounts (long story) and would like to have one deleted. My usernames are "TomandKat" and "ArmyW4". If possible I would like to delete the "ArmyW4" account.
