I haven't been able to figure out how to downsize my jpg to a size the site will accept. We have a 10.1 megapixel SLR so picture sizes are huge. Can anyone point me to a resource that explains the process?
If you are using Windows XP, here is a link to a program that you can download to re-size images. Scroll down the list on the right until you get to the Image Resizer program and then download and install. Once installed, simply right click on the image you wish to re-size, a menu will come up, and there will be a choice to re-size. Click on it and several size choices will come up. Choose the one you wish to re-size to. A copy of the original will be saved as a re-sized image. Your original will remain intact.
If you are computer challenged and in a hurry and use outlook as mail editor you can attach the picture then click on resize picture and send it to yourself. Outlook will give you a large, med and small size. Not too sure if this is in outlook express. But it is in outlook that comes with office.
First of all if you are just taking general pics and do not need the high quality set camera to 5 meg. probably can not tell the difference. I do what the last poster said but you can go to the file/pic in my document. once you find the file highlight and right click on mouse or pull go to file. Select email the picture and it should prompt you to reduce the size or keep in original file. if emailing this will work well if you want to save it smaller then send it to your self.

My daughter showed me how with Windows XP: select a photo, go to START, then to ALL PROGRAMS, then ACCESSORIES, then PAINT, here you can edit PIC. I down size 50% of it"s original size. The last time I did this my pic was 897 kb, when I down sized it was 35.6, then when I uploaded the pic the Forum re-sized it and was accepted.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND YOUR QUESTION, BUT ON YOUR CAMERA THERE SHOULD BE A CONTROL TO ZOOM IN AND OUT. THIS CONTROLS THE PICTURE SIZE.
YOU CAN AKLSO CONTROL THE SIZE OF THE PICTURE WITH THE SOFTWARE THAT CAME WITH THE CAMERA.
YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO USE AND PRACTICE WITH THE CAMERA

MicroSoft Paint that comes on your PC (usually) is the way to go. Later versions of MicroSoft Office will have a picture manager that resizes and does a nice job of adjusting color and contrast. Sometimes opening the picture file and then saving it again with Paint will reduce the file size, but no the demensions, and the forum software likes that a little better.
