I can't upload pictures

I've tried from my smart phone... from two pcs and tried taking pictures with an actual camera. I've tried .jpg (even making the file tiny)... .png, etc to no avail. Is there a maximum number of pictures you can load, then no more? Am I being blocked? Is anyone else have this trouble? Anyone have any idea what is causing this? I could link to photobucket, but I think that can't be done anymore. Thanks, WW

Using the FRF app on the smart phone with pictures taken with the smartphone (Alcatel Android) built in appj... fail.

Also, imported pics from smartphone to PC and using browser... fail.

Then using Sony camera; imported to second PC; and tried to upload from PC.... again, fail.

One of the pics (for instance) was 2M... reduced it to 200K... then to 50K and tried that... it didn't matter... fail

On the manage attachment window... I find the file and open.... then upload... it takes too long then I get "Upload of file, failed"

My money is on FRF blocking me in some way.
Thank you, Turbs.

It happens to me on a regular basis lately. I'll try after a few days and it will work fine but by then I would have missed my opportunity to contribute to the thread and the topic has moved on. I'm no expert on this topic but maybe my internet is not fast enough or FRF has too much traffic at the time to handle my upload. I don't think I'm being blocked.

I've never had a problem until now. It stopped several days ago. It fails everytime and with three devices.

Maybe FRF needs to locate the noncontiguous fragments of data into which a computer file may be divided as it is stored on a hard disk, and rearrange the fragments and restore them into fewer fragments or into the whole file. Better known as: with a defragging tool, clean up the files! Of course, I don't know if they are using Windows server(s) or not.

Maintenance?, we don't need no stinkin' maintenance!

I haven't had a successful pic upload in 2-3 days. I use the TapaTalk app on an iPhone6.

They blocked you WW. They were afraid you would upload a selfie and scare the widders and orphans.

That's the way I do it. But it takes a long time trying to upload. Then it says upload failed.

How large are the images? Can you reduce the file size?

If you are in a campground trying to use Wi-Fi with everyone else, that is common. Early morning usually works well. Or try to get park management to reboot the system.

Dimensions are 4000x3000
2.0 - 3.8 MB or so.

Like I said, sometimes they'll upload just as pretty as you please and lately(the last couple months) it's hit and miss. I'm not doing anything different and haven't changed anything. Some of the pics have been posted before with no problems.

And I am at home with no other devices hooked up.

Do get too technical or you'll lose me.

That's a pretty big file...

When an image that size gets loaded our software reduces the file size anyway in deference to mobile users with lower bandwidth. Please try reducing the image size and total file size - keep it under 1 meg if possible. My guess is that the failures are either our server timing out or your provider. Most providers have some throttling in place during high use periods.

Look here: Speakeasy Speed Test - Powered by MegaPath
or here: Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test to see if your Internet provider is delivering what they should.
Also do a full reboot....shut down everything. Restart in this order: modem, router, the pc you want to upload from and later everything else that normally runs. If others share with you, make sure someone is not playing an online game or downloading something at the same time.

One other thing, make sure your modem/router firmware are up-to-date as well has any updates for your pc and security software.

It is your timer server timing out, I get this all the time , it might take 5x's to make it work. Why don't your IT guy or gal get it fixed? it's an aggravating thing. By the way Janet how do I send PM to all moderators at the same time? thanks for your help. Also what is the admin. address? Thank you

I would say certain times of day when more users on line also makes a difference to uploading pics and the number of pics you are uploading. I find times are better to upload when not as many folks on the forum. Later RJD
