IE quits working
I have in the last few days at least 40% of the time I click on a thread, I get a notice that "Internet Explorer has quit working". I don't get this on any other website, just FRF. It will then go to the thread when I click it again

I have gotten the same thing the past couple days or I will get a notice from my antivirus that this website is not safe. I don't know what's going on but it is annoying.

I have a long history of IE not working on this site. I switched to Chrome which works better here.

Still does not solve the problem on this forum. Some of us don't like Chrome, Apple, etc. Why not just find and fix the problem with the site?

Its my understanding that the problem is an issue with IE. This site isn't the only place I have experienced where IE stops working and sadly its starting to become the norm for sites I use regularly.

Microsoft will replace IE with a new browser known as Spartan. You can actually download it now. Read about it here:
Microsoft's Project Spartan Browser Is Now Available for Download

I fully agree with this. I'm an IT manager who has to deal with IE. I personally like Chrome.
But if you still want to use IE, try resetting it. Go to tools, internet options, go to the advanced tab and click the "restore advanced settings" button and then the "Reset" button. Tell it to clear all your personal settings. This will not remove your favorites, it will just reset your IE back to default views and remove your toolbar's. Typically its the tool bars that cause this issue anyways.

I also used Chrome on my previous computer when IE stop working on that computer but I also had issues with Chrome not opening up PDF files from companies. I have since upgraded my computer and I updated to a newer version of Micro Soft software which included a newer version of IE.
I found out that the hard drive/RAM was having issues and needed to be updated or replaced.

IE has always been known as a huge security flaw in Windows. It can be used as a direct pipeline into your operating system by hackers. 3rd party browsers like Chrome or Firefox aren't perfect, but they are typically much safer.
Even the US government suggested switching.

If the government is suggesting switching, I will definitely not switch.
