Lyft JavaScript Link from this Forum

It appears the this forum contains an invasive JavaScript link to the iTunes App Store for the Lyft App. It has a red baloon logo. Lyft is a ride sharing app like Über.

The only way for an apple iPhone user to stop the link from running is to restrict access to the App Store or say buh bye to this forum.

Duckogram, we're sending this to the tech administrators and asking them to look into it.

Using the Tapatalk app, I don't see anything out of the ordinary.

I've also used my iPhone's Safari browser to get to the forum - no issue here.

It is not an "Alert". It is exactly what I said it is. There is a JavaScript that runs on it's own. It redirects you to the Lyft App and subsequently sends you to the App Store to download and install the Lyft App. The app itself is vetted by Apple.
It is safe. It is the auto run of the JavaScript that redirects you from your chosen destination that is the annoyance.

Here are some details that may be helpful:
iPhone 4
iOS 7.1.2
Safari browser
Pop-ups enables
No other programs running in the background.
Using the full website (firestriverforums.com) to access
the forum.

Note: Please do a web search related to this issue and see that it is well documented and occurs on many different platforms. It appears to be a new advertising technique.

Duckogram, can you turn on the debug feature of your Safari browser, and let us know if it shows anything when accessing FRF? This might help us see where the problem is coming from.

Here is how to do that:

Activate the Debug Console in Safari for the iPhone

Thanks

After doing some digging on this it appear that this is an ad being shown to you that indeed hijacks. You can do some reading about it here: https://www.facebook.com/lyft/posts/829674463758136

It appears that the Lyft folks are aware of this but have not pulled their ad from the net (not too nice). We're try to have the ad removed but in the meantime you might want to disable javascript on your device.

Is this why I can't find the app in my Apple AppStore for my iPhone?

No. That is unrelated. The FRF app should be back in the app store in the next couple of days.

That process is not available on my platform/iOS. I have Web Inspector which requires a USB connection to a computer that I do not have.
