message on site
This morning I keep getting a message either at the top of the band or on the right hand side telling me that I need to load a driver. I click off it and everything is the same. Did the Forum admin. put this message up? I don't know why I would be missing a driver for this Forum only. Anyone have any info on this, being I'm not a IT type person?.....

I have not seen any driver popups this AM, are you on windows 7 or 8 and is the popup for JAVA?

I used to get them quite often and not only on this site. After awhile of doing nothing they stopped popping up.
I just figured that they were one of those "lets get creative" and see if we can prompt more clicks to our link advertisements.

I use windows 7, It's not a pop-up for java. It said I needed to up date my driver for this site? Just got one on the bottom right to click here to update your driver. I did that one time and it screwed my whole computer up. So I'm leery to do that. Since the forum update I didn't know, I'll wait to here from the site team MT Guy is on it. It shows up when I first open the site.

I asked about JAVA because some news and video sites run popups to get you to click and then another popup will tell you that need to run a "windows" cleaner.
You are right to be leary of such things.
I suggest you run your AV and then do a disk cleanup and clear your history and cache then restart your PC.

It's very deceiving, but that's what some ads do. I'll let the higher ups know, and see if they can stop it.
You can also clear your cookies on your browser, as that's how most ads are tailored, especially if you have done google searches on certain things or visited sites pertaining to the same subject matter.
