Moving threads…..
Hey admins, with all due respect. When you move a thread that I unintentionally posted in the wrong group can you tell us we’re you moved it ? Thanks. I’m new here so don’t mean to stir the pot but I don’t alway know where to ask 😎

A thread moved to another subforum, is supposed to automatically notify the OP of the move via a forum created PM (private message).
Are you talking about threads or perhaps individual posts IN a thread?

You can also always see a list of your (or other members) posts and/or threads started via the members profile--statistics. That will also show you where everything is. Click the link below:

Yes, if you didn't receive a PM about the thread move, we need to know that.
Sent from my SM-G781U using Forest River Forums mobile app

The OP has sent a PM. I believe it was a post move and not a thread move.
Individual post moves do not automatically notify the member in question.

Thank goodness you moderators have never had to move any of my threads.
Being as perfect as I am, I couldn’t possibly make a mistake like that. I thought I did make that mistake once……but I was wrong, so my record stands.

Well I can certainly attest that I am absolutely right when I think I am wrong.
Back on topic, whenever the site team moves a post(s), it is usually because they are too far off topic, a thread hijack, posted in wrong thread, or other similar reasons.
Threads (not individual posts) are moved when they are in the wrong subsection or would get better answers if moved to a specific subforum. When a thread is moved the forum software should send an automatic private message to the OP of the thread. FYI, the site team moves many threads in a months time (approx. 421 in the last 90 days or 4.67 avg per day), but only a few individual posts.

Steve,
You can always click on your name in the upper right, next to Welcome,_____.
Then click on Statistics. There are two links... on shows "Find all posts by...." and one shows "Find all threads started by.....". Click on the appropriate link and presto... you'll find what you need.
That's the easy way to chase down your posts.... as shown in the post by wmtire.

Just noticed after experiencing this that the Mobile app doesn't list a lot of the subsections shown on the full site. Easy to go down the wrong rabbit hole when using the Mobile App.
They may well be there but are hard to find.

Mike, can you name some of the subsections missing on the app, that are on the full site?

You most likely are not using the mobile app correctly to get to the subforum. You will need to keep tapping on each forum, subforum, then sub subforum if applicable to open up the page.
Ex. From the thread title page that has Community Forums, tap on General Community Discussions
Now you see the subforums in there, with off-topic as one. Tap on the off-topic subforum.
Now you see the threads in that subforum, where you add a new thread to this subforum.
