New Posts

I have a question...

On all other forums it works this way. in the New Posts. If I click on new posts and can see all the latest threads with the newest on top.

Now.

If I click on a thread and look and then go back to New Posts that thread is no longer listed? Am I missing something. Also if I post in that thread and then go straight to new posts again that thread does not show up?

All the other forums I go to does not do that at all. Is there a setting I need to change?

New posts are basically unread posts since your last visit. If you have visited the thread, then it will not show up in your new posts until there is actually a "new" post since your last visit. Same as when you post to a thread. You have actually visited the thread by posting to it, so there won't be a new post until someone else actually posts a new one to it since your last visit.

What you may be seeking is to use the "quick links" dropdown box, then click on "todays posts" which will show you all threads with latest posts in order, whether you have visited it or not.

Thanks for the info so you use todays posts for what I am use to on other forums as new posts. This site just is different than all the others.

It depends on what you mean when you say "go back to New Posts". Are you hitting the back button on your browser or are you literally clicking the 'new posts' button again?

If you are hitting the button again, then what wmtire said explains it pretty well. That's how all the other message boards I visit work.

If you want to see the list of posts as they were before you clicked on the thread, just use the back button on your browser. That way it won't refresh the posts on the page.
