problem posting pics

I have been trying to post pictures to my post for 2 days but they are appearing sideways. how do you go about correcting this. I also need to know how to add a caption to the pic. I have asked in the forum if anyone could help with this but no luck there.

Usually the sideways pics are with the way you took them with a cellphone. FRF can't decipher the EXIF information and orient them, and you may have to use a photo editing program to fix them before uploading.

As far as a caption, are you talking about putting it on the pic itself, or something else?

For "captioning," I write whatever I want for each pic (sometime a paragraph!).

Then I go up to the paperclip at the top to the right of the fonts. When you click on the paperclip (not the down arrow), it gives you the picture posting dialog box and I upload whatever pics I want.

Then I go back to the paperclip icon. When you click on the down arrow next to the paperclip you will see a list of all the pics you just loaded. When you click on any of them, it will "paste it in" wherever your cursor happens to be.

So I put my cursor under each "blurb" I wrote, then use the paperclip list to paste the appropriate pic there.

Hope this is clear enough.

Iphones are notorious for doing this. It drove me nuts until I figured it out. What was getting me was that, on a Windows machine, using the standard viewing app to rotate them only changed the way they were displayed. They'd rotate and look sideways or upside down or whatever on the computer, but still upload sideways. Rotating then re-saving the photo with editing software was the only way to fix it that I found.
