Security Breach - Pop Up

Dear Admin,
I truly understand the desire to advertise the News Letter however I am concerned about password security.
During sign in, the pop up frequently rears its ugly head and I end up typing
my password in the e-mail box defaulted to by the pop up.
Since the field is not secure, it is possible to send my password over the internet unprotected. I suppose I should just call this notice of a security breach and a disclaimer.
Thanks for listening,
Ducky

lol Ducky.

I thought this was a thread about a break into a pop up camper.

There is an option in your user cp to disable the pop-up.

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...do=editoptions

Scroll all the way to the bottom - it's the last option. Hit save when you are finished.

Followed the link like Old Blue. Got a cramp in my finger. Pushed the button.
THANK YOU

Thanks to O.P. and Janet H for that question and answer. You probably helped out a lot of us older fellas today. I didn't even know that option was there. Old Guys (Brian and Joanne)

Well , the newsletter is a fairly recent addition to the site ..so the option is also new.

Oh Oh, It's back! The Newsletter pop up just appeared after
log in. I imediately checked to see if the user cp switch was still off and it was.

Just as informational item, how does the site know if I have that option off before I log in?
After all, that was my initial concern regarding password security.

When you set that option in your usercp a cookie is set on your computer to let the site know that you don;t want to see the notice. If you logged in from another device or perhaps purged all your cookies, this might be the issue.

Got it, thanks. I am on my iPhone 6 as usual and I have not cleared cookies or website data since I set the switch to off.

Follow Up - When I log out a screen comes up that reads in part; "All Cookies Cleared".
That appears to be inconsistant with the functionallity of usercp selections.

You can turn pop ups off on your browser. You may get a bar at the top and even that can be eliminated by selecting never allow pop ups for this site. Hope this helped!
