I say this because the error in an of itself is a certificate error which typically indicates that there is a mismatch between what your computer (client side) expects the certificate to be and what is actually on the site itself (server side).
The ads are generated via some type of script whether it is jscript (Java) or other programming language. If there is a problem they will generate an error message similar to what you have in your post, however that should not create a client/server certificate error.
I actually have some of those messages as well, but not specific to FB, many of them are the results of googletag(s) being undefined, yet do not generate the errors.
With all this said there are a couple of things that I would recommend.
- use an AdBlocker (this will help quite a bit)
- un-install and re-install Java (it would be interesting to know what version everyone is running) as I am on Java 6 - update 37 right now and this could be a problem because v7 - update 21 is out there and I will give this a try.
- clear cookies, content, and history (as in clear everything out of your browser that could create issues here)
I'm not a programmer, so I could have some if this mis-stated and if so I apologize, just trying to help everyone out here.

Okay, here's the disclaimer... I work for Microsoft and AM a programmer. The issue is in that pic I posted before. When you make external connections to "other stuff", in this case it was an attempt to FB, you use a certificate for authentication. In the case here, whoever did the work did it wrong. Thus, Internet Explorer is picking it up as a potential vulnerability and letting you know. Again, the picture and line of code which I outlined above is the root cause answer. If the site admin fixes or deletes that line of code, you'll see the issue "magically" go away.
Just sayin'....

So now I am in learning mode. Given that you know the fix, how can I recreate this?

Site error
I put a doc together with some code, screen shots and walk through. However, at the end of the day you need to be a forum admin to "fix" this issue. I wasn't sure if you had the ability to log into the forum control panel and address this or not. Let me know if you have questions or need help.

Thanks. I read through what you have put out there and perhaps the forum admins can look at this. Maybe I didn't ask my question correctly though. Evidentially I did something that isn't allowing me to recreate the error message from occurring on my Windows systems with IE. Do you know what I can do to recreate the problem?

I tried too using 2 different computers on Win 7 & IE 10. There is no problem with the web site on either computer. I could try with the 3rd computer but the DW is using it & I expect the results to be the same.

I had both problems (certificate errors and slow response) before I went to ie 10 and still have them after upgrading to ie10.

I just ran a quick clean program on my McAfee virus protection, afterward I had to reinter the forums website on my computer and log back in. But it got rid of the security certificate error massage?

Is anyone looking into the security certificate and slow response problem? This has been going on for some time now!

I am sure the certificate errors are from the Google ads.
Slow response is a whole nuther matter...

This is the only site where I get the security certificate message. The sysadmin should see what do other sites do differently that prevents this from occurring.

Bumping this and hoping someone is actually "working on it". Just updated to IE10 and still having the error message.
Has anyone checked the other forums that Social Knowledge maintains for similar issue? Just a thought.

I had errors for about 2 weeks; then a miracle happened.
It stopped.
This is an Ad problem with google ads.

Thanks for your monitoring this Herk. We all knew you "Walk On Water"!
I clicked through several (meaning 10) other forums from SK and did not have any error message. A couple sites had similar forum layouts as ours.
Just confusing if a Google problem why it does not affect everyone? Not expecting an answer since that would mean we could actually fix it. Tell us where the rocks are.
