Site slow

For whatever reason this site seems really slow, could be me but my Good Sam,Chevy and Goldwing forums seem ok. Is there something I can do to speed things up a bit? Thanks Jerry

The speed on this site is as fast as any of the others even way up North here in Canada.......and that includes getting past customs.

Can't stay long................news is that nasty winter weather coming up from Texas is on it's way.

Gotta go grease the shovel.

Bye now.

I find it quite slow to load. Once a page is loaded it seems to work okay. I guess I'm old fashioned with Windows XP and IE8 running on a 2.8 GHz Pentium IV machine. I'm guessing the server for this site is marginal.

Try dumping your temporary internet files and cache.

This forum hasn't been too bad, but IRV2.com has been a real pain. A few days ago it was taking 55 seconds every time I changed pages. I tried all the usual things, malware scan, ccleaner, activating "Simple adblock", but nothing seemed to improve things.

I went looking around some of the lists of what was running, and in the "Processes" list of Task manager, there were a couple of programs I didn't recognise. One was called "SunKistEM", the other "HPHa3mon". I Googled the titles and both were things I didn't need, so I went into the Norton start-up manager and turned them off.

What a difference! Pages now load in 10 seconds or less, this on an elderly eMachines with 2.2 processor, Win XP and 2 GB RAM.
