Sound
When I am on this site I get short very loud bursts of advertisements, it's almost always when using MS Edge and they only last a couple of seconds.
They are very irritating.

Use a quality web browser with an ad blocker.

This. MS Edge is terrible.
Download Chrome or Firefox, and install an adblocker like Ublock Origin.

Guess y'all are missing the point, while the particular browser might play a roll,
it is primarily a site issue.

Sorry you think we're missing the point but it's more complex than just a website issue.
Different browsers render websites differently. Some browsers allow bursts of sound, while others don't. Your browsing and search history is used to drive the ads that are on the site.
The Forest River Forums sell ad space. This ad space is filled by advertisers. Your particular browser tracks which things you've searched, and and reports it to advertisers which then displays ads on websites (this one included). These ads change, some have sounds, some don't. Have you ever searched for a particular item, then have that same item pop up in ads on every website you are on? These are the trackers doing their marketing job. MS Edge is doing it's job by provided advertisers that information.
So no, it's not primarily the site's issue.
The reason Picker and I recommended you change your browser is because Chrome and Firefox have settings to block the trackers, shut off the sound, and if you install an adblocker, it will completely get rid of ads and their noise.
The alternative is for our Forest River Forum to stop selling ad space. But then they would charge us money to use it since they have operating costs. So it's just easier to change your browser and install adblock.

The view always depends on which end of the horse you're looking at.

This is the genius of the issue.
I understand different browsers render differently however they only render what is there or in this discussion allowed.

Well, actually it is

The owners of the FR forum make a decision on who to sell ad space to.
My suggestion would be for FR to change the criteria a little and be more discerning on who they allow to advertise.

Well the FR Fforums could do a lot of things. Whether they actually do them is another matter.
There are things WE can do to make navigating the website a much more pleasant experience. Like using the suggestions listed above. That’s what’s directly in my control, so I’m doing that. You can choose to do whatever you like!

I've been getting this as well...
And I am using Chrome!
One of those Allstate auto insurance ads...just one or two words...about every 20 seconds or so.
The guy with the deep voice that was in that TV show 'The Unit'!

Complaints like this are almost always within the users realm. Changing browsers might help, but probably not. I personally like Edge better than most. Very fast. Learning to use and configure ad blocker software is a good start. Or, turn down your speakers. I only turn mine up when I want to listen to something.
If you are on other free forums, I'm sure they act the same way as far as ads. Free sites like FRF depend on ads to stay online. Otherwise, folks like us will have to ante up to enjoy them!

Nope...only this site.
I'll clear my cookies and it goes away for a day or two...then it starts again!
And yes...I have ad blocker software running.

Not complaining...just describing what is happening.
By the way...this just started maybe a week ago...using Chrome, not Edge or IE.
And I haven't been searching for auto insurance.
Plus, I figured out it is only here when it starts, and if I close the window to this site it stops.
Then when I open another window here...it starts again.

Which adblocker?
You may need to change the blocker settings, or settings in your browser to disable autoplay

Not sure which ad blocker...
My computer guru IT tech friend just redid Windows 10 on both my desktop and laptop about two months ago before I left Denver and hooked it up with all the latest greatest stuff.
However, when this issue started about a week ago I did go into the settings of Chrome and 'Autoplay' was already switched off.
Again...it is only happening with this site and no others using Chrome, and it is always the same little clip of an Allstate ad.
Right now it is not doing it...when it starts I'll chime in again.
