The location thing is an added permission for the app to access without you otherwise knowing during use.
For the previously visited threads, were you signed in?

There was an app update last night sometime that should have resolved the viglink issues. You may need to log out and log in again after the update.

The updated, green FR app, now appears to be a virtual clone of the orange Tapatalk app. I have both and there were some subtle differences that made me like the green FR app a bit better... but hey, as long as it works...

So far, everything seems hunky-dory.

Yes.

Well, I preferred the simplicity of the previous green app.
This new version is too busy.

I'm not going to update the green app on my tablet and continue to use it instead.

I didn't update either. Probably won't. I don't see why the app needs my permission to know my location. There's nothing about the forum that is location based.

Just deny that permission. The app will work fine without it.

If you deny it then it doesn't allow you to update.

No such option on Google play. You either except it or don't get it.

Accept it there, then once updated, go into your settings>app settings and turn it off.

Busy Indeed........but after turning off the pictures that pop up in timeline view I sort of like it.

You'll find a few other tricks from the default settings that will help as you go along (graying out read threads, etc,) that will make it better too.

If you use tapatalk, the green FR app seem to be a clone now.

Unless you made a backup of your tablet and have the old version .apk file handy, it's going to be tough.

You might find an old version online somewhere but being it's a FR app that has a limited audience, the likelihood of someone having it (and not riddled with malware) are slim to none.

If you have automatic back-up you could roll it back to an earlier date.
This is why I shut off automatic updates.

The old app is not compatible with the new secure login and this is the reason for the update.
