Website error and reloads occuring

I've read multiple issues in the past with reloads of this site. I've read about several things to check and clear if experiencing issues and haven't really been paying attention. However for the past week I have been experiencing multiple reloads, apparent buffer overloads causing excessive delays in processing keyboard entries, and starting yesterday I can only type a message for about 4 lines before the error occurs and recycles my iPad which wipes out what I typed. When I go to a different forum I don't have this issue.

I'm going to log on with a different computer to see if the same thing occurs but right now convinced it's a site issue. I will update this post later with results of using a different computer.

Is anyone else having a problem with web site errors and reloads occuring?

What platform are you using with your ipad?
A web browser or either the FR app or tapatalk app?

Well I switched computers and not one reload has occurred. This desktop computer has Win10 and I'm using Edge.

Darn I guess this means my iPad has the issue. I'll check my version OS since I'm not sure but know that I'm using Safari. This could still be hardware issue but it very well may be my iPad 2 actually has the problem.

I still don't understand why I don't have any issues with the same iPad on other forums. Ah!! maybe I need to do a hardware upgrade.

I have iOS 9.3.5 which shows current when I check. I'm using the web browser on my iPad and my Desktop. Is it possible that I need to use the FR app on the iPad?

Well trying the App now and it's going to take time to get use to using.

I don't own any Apple products but I do know on Android, two of my tablets and both phones don't do well with forums using mobile web browsers.
On my mobile devices, I've switched all my forum use to either the stand alone app or tapatalk.

Until recently (day before yesterday) the FR app was more streamlined (less busy) than the tapatalk version and I preferred it for this forum as it was simple, easy and fast... BUT... it had some issues that didn't seem to get resolved with external links.

The updated the FR app appears to be a clone of tapatalk and it works fine, just not as convenient for an 'on the go' mobile app. When I'm home/camping where I can give my undivided attention to tapatalk, it isn't a problem. But then again, at home/camping I usually have access to a laptop or desktop and don't typically use it there anyway.

Thanks for the updated app!! After getting used to the changes for a couple of days, and adjusting the settings to my liking, I am really enjoying it. The default settings make the mobile app a little busy and over whelming. But there are enough settings to fix that to get back to a bare bones, fast and easy app. Thanks again!!

Well my desktop just locked up, requested and did a website reload. What a pain. Only difference is I had to say it was ok to do the reload.

At this point I'm confident it isn't my computers. Might be my ISP or something else but it's not my issue.

It is occurring routinely now. I'm gonna get the carpet out and light a fire. Smoke signals always worked before unless the wood was wet. R u ready

Well I'm cautiously stating that my iPad is working on the FR app. Nothing unusual or unexpected going on right now. Not one website reload has occurred and no lock ups either.

So tell me again how to get an app on my desktop.

Only odd thing I've noticed is on the new app on my galaxy tab s, it asks to use location. If I say yes, it brings up the app settings page. If I say no, it continues normally.

I log in on a MacBook Pro via Chrome browser. Can't say I've noticed any problems.

you appear to be pretty much alone with a problem... my Win10 laptop works well... have you tried using a different browser than Safari? I googled alternative browsers for ipad, and got this somewhat dated PCMag article... I hope this helps...

Website error and reloads occuring

Well that's partly true since I keep getting work around options to make access more stable. If you read the entire thread you'll see others have mentioned the same thing and consider this to be just normal operation of the FR web site. If others were using the web browser on a MAC for example then it may get a little more attention. With the release of the FR app do you think less attention is being paid to the web browser. The work around gets the job done but when SOB sites have no issues when using the same computer that should say something is up but unstable. I have no problem having to use alternate access options to get into Forest River Forum since this is advertised as a very friendly, informative, and welcoming group and I totally agree.

As long as the work around continues to work that will be great. I really don't need to be on if the instability bothers me and it's not going to change my mind to eventually own a newer FR product. BTW this entire posting has been typed using the FR app on my iPad (same one as earlier) without any website error reloads. The work around is working great so thank you.

However of note if FR Forum is paying a service charge to someone to maintain this site on the web then maybe they should be made aware that some problems are forcing work around options be developed by the users. I firmly believe if specific hardware is required or certain browsers to be or not to be used then that should be listed on a sticky. If there is already a sticky on this then I apologize for not knowing about it but if not there should be one available that's easily seen by new members. The problem is if website errors and resetting is only affecting the FR forum then something is not working correctly.

I'm still not saying this is a FR issue because it could be something with the ISP. It's hard to determine from my location what's causing the issue but it does exist.

The best thing to do would be to try contacting tech support through the contact us at the bottom of the page. I will send them a note for you.
