Why can't I post to old threads?

At what point do you make posting to older threads unavailable? I'm a new member seeking lots of information on my new Micro-Lite DS21, and I wanted to respond to a post that was 157 days old (barely 5 months) and was told that the thread was too old. Really? 5 months?

I'm the mod for two other forums, and we don't limit responses on either of those forums because of the valuable information being exchanged. What's the alternative? Open a new thread and post a link to the old discussion? Please advise.

Thanks,

Jay Arras

You can post to old threads, but just have to acknowledge you know it's an old thread first....so you are aware you may not get a response or the information is older.

It's explained here in post #21;

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...html#post71769

I haven't used the app for this purpose, so there could be a difference between the app version of the site and the full web version as explained in the link above.
