Why thread "too old" message AFTER writing post?

Why am I allowed to generate a post and told only after that that the thread is too old and my post can't be posted? You waste the time I take trying to help.

From the website, at least...

There's a checkbox you missed when you reply to an old thread. It says something like "yo dawg, this thread is XXX days old. Are you sure you want to resurrect this bad boy?"

Click that checkbox and you can reply to threads that are super old.

In the future, if you get that message- click back, click the checkbox, and you can re-submit your response usually without losing your post (and time).

Thanks. I suppose that question could be posed again instead of dumping the post, but I'll watch for it. I usually don't post to told threads but sometimes there is additional information for future viewers.

The standard way to change a price in a classified ad is to post to the classified with something like Price Change new price is $XXX.00
