A lot of people- even for a bunkhouse!
Two trips now and both times we've had full houses.
Two weeks ago was camping near Knoebels and we had my family of 4 (with the baby in a pack and play) and a friend's family of 5 camping in our camper.
This weekend, we've had 3 families together with 10 of us total all camped together in the camper.
I gotta say- we are loving the bunkhouse!

This long holiday weekend was nice- each family traveled about 6 hours to a central location to stay together and have fun. All of the cousins got along amazingly for a weekend of bike riding, pool, fishing and now even some canoeing.
And, somehow- the food has been some of the greatest eats - EVER.

Amen to that. I would point them in the direction of the nearest RV dealership. Seems things get tore up when overcrowding becomes an issue. I like my camper way more than I do my extended family.

We are at Pigeon Forge this week with a total of 8. Our youngest and his friend plus my BIL and his 3. Kid ages 11 and under. Put a blow up mattress is the bunkhouse floor and have not used the couch in the main slide. We typically travel with a "possee" , thus the bunkhouse. The two older kids are grown and out on thier own. When we do go with just tbe DW and the boy it seems very quiet. I'm with you...love my bunkhouse!

That's why they call it the great outdoors. With the 21' awning and outside kitchen, plus a gazebo, there is xtra elbow room. We only have this many 2x a year and niece and nephew talk about it all year round. It's usually just the DW, the boy and one of his friends. The other family we travel with has a class A. I am an active person and ususally lesd hikes, biking, kayaking..my buddy calls me " tour guide Ken" The biggest compliment I had this year was when my RV travel buddy's daughter told her dad they needed to plan all of thier camping trips with us...he told her..." we can go without Mark"..her response..."yeah, but why would u want to"

Sometimes I think that two is too many. Enjoy all the family getting together, but I pick camp grounds with cabins. I may cook for 21+ people, but just the better half and me in the trailer.

Have a friend with a huge 5er that says it will seat 12 but only sleeps 2 and that applies to all family members including his daughter and grand children. Says he rents them a motel that is close.

I guess I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I love my family and friends and encourage them to come along whenever we go. Will have 10 next weekend and looking forward to it.

So true!! That's why our 32 footer only sleeps TWO. We will let someone occasionally sleep on our couch for a night or two. But I enjoy the privacy, and not having to crawl over bodies or fight for the bathroom makes me a much happier camper.

Plus eleventy!
We've told our kids (all grown) our new RV only sleeps two.
I'm all about camping with friends or family but they gotta bring their own "housing".
I've found that those not having to pay for something really aren't as careful about damaging it.
I've already informed my sons this RV *WILL NOT BE LOANED OUT!!*
I watched an extended family this weekend; man, wife, 3 young boys, grandmother, grandfather and one other grandchild with autism.
The young wife (occasional help from her husband)did *all* the cooking....I mean three full meals a day, and they were camping in a pop up, while grandmother and grandfather along with the autistic child (he was a real handful...lots of screaming...about 5 years old) were camping in a 5er.
Yesterday I saw the young mother trek up to the 5er and come back with 2 dozen eggs. She told me the occupants of the 5er were all still asleep, she had to wake them to get the eggs.
Sure 'nuff, they came stragglin' down about the time breakfast was ready.
Newp, that ain't happenin' in our campsite. Sure, come on, let's go camping, but bring your own camper.

And.....
I'm bettin at the end of the trip all the "extras" head on home while the owner of the RV spends two hours unloading it and cleaning it up.
With just me and DH after 4 nights on the lake, we spent a whole hour unloading and cleaning our TT.
Of course we wipe down the shower, wipe out the fridge, sinks, etc. and mop/dust mop the floors, scrub the porcelain throne, add chemicals to tank, etc.
I don't even wanna think about the clean up and how long it'd take with a dozen folks, with kids, in it for 4 days.
