Some town parks have created special pickelball parks — Punta Gorda is one town that has done this.

VERY big uproar about the noise caused by the Pickle Ball courts in Punta Gorda in the Waterfront park. They have opened a Pickle ball complex in town away from residential zoning. Inside courts also. Very noisy game. Ping Pong on steroids.

Ya. I knew the area residents in Punta Gorda were complaining about the increased noise. Figured the complaining increase when the snowbirds get back.

BIL and his wife started playing at their winter campground in Arcadia FL couple years ago.
Both have since stopped due to the various injuries, strains, sprains, etc. Hard on the knees and wrists.

But not as bad as tennis. I guess they could always revert back to ping-pong.

If played properly, there shouldn't be any injuries. Most of the play is up close to the net. Soft shot placement of the ball. Most people I play with, let the lib shots go over their heads and say "nice shot"!

Played in Yuma and Mesa this past winter. Saw it played the winter before and thought it sucked. Now I enjoy it and it can be a great couples sport. Happy our is still my sport of choice though.

Where I learned to play at our winter spot in Az, one person had better play deep! Those folks were serious! Big group played every morning and a usually smaller group played in the evening at a slower pace, good for learning the game.
There is a court at Gulf Shores state park in Alabama.

That exactly the way it works in our park in Arcadia Florida. The morning group is a serious bunch of people. Very athletic and good.
Some of that group will be there in the evenings but generally there to help the beginners.
