Campsites with a view

I love it when I get a campsite with a nice view. All too often we end up with a view of other campsites from our windows. Currently we have a water view on two sides of our camper.

Looks like a beautiful spot Oakman!

We're still new to camping at actual campgrounds (have done more yard camping than anything so far), but I have a couple of pics from our stay at Horseneck Beach in Westport, MA earlier this year. We were able to camp within 50 yards of the beach. Best view so far.

What a great view Oakman! You also have to have a rig like that to get that view from inside.

Hey, is that Forest Jump up on the wall above the dinette?

Nice photos force, it must be nice to see the beach from your trailer.

Gregg Willow, yes that is Forest Jump above the window. He has become part of our stuffed animal collection that live in our trailer.

Actually I could fish from the trailer...if I had an Illinois fishing license. Normally the water wouldn't be this close to the campsite but the lake is 7 feet above normal pool right now.

Here's a pic of our campsite.

Nice view! Looks like you backed down a boat ramp and setup camp there

You used a key word, cheap. That's why I won't buy an out-of-state license.

I do like fish tacos, especially the ones they make at the Hangout in Gulf Shores, AL.

We really love Carlyle Lake. There are five public campgrounds there (that I know of) and we have stayed at all of them. I think we like Boulder Rec. Area COE best. It would be hard to get a bad spot on that lake. But I have to admit that your rig certainly enhances the view from inside.

Peggy, I'm guessing you must have lived in the area if you've been to all of the campgrounds. Surely you don't come all the way from Connecticut to camp on the shores of Carlyle Lake.

We live in Connecticut, but our son and his family live in Missouri. We go through the area at least once a year. We usually stay at Carlyle Lake on the way out and again on the way home.

We did live in Illinois many, many years ago when we were first married. My husband grew up near Chicago.

Thank you for clearing up that mystery for me Peggy. Carlyle Lake does have some nice campgrounds. I prefer the COE campgrounds over the state parks. I don't think they allow camping in South Shore State Park anymore, I could be wrong though.

I only have two windows on either side. It would be nice to have a rear window but due to the layout of my small TT its not possible while a front window might had been added.
