End of season 2012
This was our first season to have our new Forest River Rockwood camper and I have to say, I am so sorry to see it end. Because we have a fairly stressful life, we decided that while we are still working our regular jobs, we will park our camper at a local campground, Deer Trail Park in Wytheville, VA, At first I was a little bummed when this was what my husband wanted to do, but it has turned out perfectly. It's only about 10 miles from our house and with not having to spend a ton of time setting up and tearing down, we really were able to maximize our time.
We have made some of the most wonderful friends and each weekend brought a new dynamic of friends. There were the full timers who leave their campers at the campground year round, the part timers like us who were there for 6 months, the some timers who came occasionally and the one timers who stopped there on their way some place else and whose will probably never see again, but we had the best time with them all.
Our new camper has this dandy outdoor kitchen with a tv that pulls down out of the ceiling. We had this nice roomy campsite where we had this nice space to erect a small canopy. We had race parties, football parties and baseball parties. One Saturday night we had barbecue and slaw at our campsite and fed almost everyone in the campground.
I highly recommend this new way of life, Forest River Travel Trailers and the Deer Trail Park Campground. I can hardly wait unit we convert from part time to full time, it almost makes up for getting old.
