Could be but I always thought of it more as Old English.

New English seems to be more the norm in parts of the US where English is a second language for a growing part of the population.

On that note I've found a new variation showing up in a lot of instruction manuals on things I've purchased. "Chinglish" has some interesting variations in syntax.

Some days feel just about like that sign. no matter which way you go, you end up "messed up."

This seems to happen a lot lately. Just camped in an area where there was a notice posted announcing a "Wildlife Closure". Showed a map of the area that was closed to all motorized vehicle travel. Understandable however--------The sign was upside down and as a result the closed area wasn't where one logically would think it was.

Does make one shake their head considering the cost of these signs.

Flordia ST

Forgot about this street sign from a large city that happened to be not too far from their street sign department.
QA?
Didn't the sign crew not know?

Flordia Street anyone?

There was a road in my town growing up that was called Elm. The problem was that as you drove down Elm, you would notice the street signs. The first one said Elm Ave. Then the next one said Elm St. Then another Elm St. Then back to Elm Ave again.

I just called it Elm Street Avenue.

They eventually figured it out and now all the signs say Elm Ave.

I always thought signs like this were ridiculous.
They spent the exact same amount of time/materials/money to tell me what the speed limit ISN'T rather than telling me what it IS!

My wife an I encountered this one while waterfall hunting. It got me wondering if the people that maintained the park had a sense of humor or if they actually got too many complaints that "you didn't tell me that!"

It's a warning to out of shape people.

There is one at sleeping bear national Lakeshore, on the top of a huge bluff. Something like 2 min down, 3.5 hours back up....
