Are you talking board games? If so, our three kids ages 10, 8, and 6 like to play Farkle with us.

Give the 20-month old crayons and paper. He'll have fun drawing ... or he'll eat the crayons.

We have an 11 yr old son and 9 year old daughter. We take the following games with us: Mexican Train, Pass the Pigs, a couple Lego games and UNO. Those are for playing inside if it rains or when we're too tired or hot to go outside. Outside, they usually make up their own games to play or ride their bikes but I also bring a kick ball and Nerf football.

We "used" to tell the kids we've hidden a 100.00 bill around the campsite first one to find it got it!
Kept them busy for hours till they got old enough to know better!

We took them for ice cream after a long hunt of a hundy!

It's funny but I happened to see Farkle on the shelf at my local drug store last night so I grabbed it based on Tri-Guy's post yesterday.

Its addictive!

We have fun watching my six year-old do the dice math in her head (she's actually quite good now), her 8-year old sister taking all the risks until she gets closer to the end of the game and my 10-year old trying to tell her sisters what to do. We have a hoot. Hope you like it!

Turbo's game of hiding the hundred reminded me of another one we do that my three girls like ...

I write clues on 12 pieces of paper with each piece of paper leading to the next one with a map or a clue. My DW takes the kids and dog for a walk and then I will hide pages 2-12.

The clues depend on the site and the campground but it would go something like this ...

Page 1) Firepit rocks

Page 2) Walk 10-steps towards road (or water).

Page 3) Look behind the spare tire

Page 4) Go to the Bubbler (which is a water fountain to everyone not from Wisconsin).

And so on. The last clue is page 12 which will tell them to look in a certain spot in the trailer for their candy.

Our kids love it.

I sit back and watch. Usually takes them at least a beer or two before they find the loot.

This weekend at Inverhuron PP they had a scavenger hunt on Sunday; my DD loved it!
We had to ride from one end of the park to the other looking for 6 clues. All went well until the 5th clue went missing (someone took it) but the nice employees at the park office helped my DD fill in the answer sheet so she could finish.

It's the little things like this that can make a childs day.
Kudos to the people who organized the hunt

Guess it depends on how much energy they have
For sit-down games we love Boggle, Quiddler, Trouble, Find Four, Mastermind etc...most of which come in travel size.
If more movement is necessary then we enjoy sticky ball (material ball with 2 velcro hand pads), hopscotch, skipping and of course biking.

Oh yeah....... nothing is better than a simple game of I-spy while sitting by the camp fire.

Apples to apples is a blast.

Love the scavenger hunt ideas. Going to propose that for the next trip.

My cousin brings the wii and we will all sit around playing that. Group games like family fued and the like.

And good old kereoke. A lot of that!

At night the kids play hide and seek and a variation of that where the person who is it has to hide and everyone else finds "it". Last one to find becomes it. Normally after the first night all the kids from the entire camp are hanging around together so this makes it fun.

Throw nine pennies out into the grass and tell them you will take them for ice cream when they find all ten. Keeps them busy for hours.

Better record the dates and mint marks.
This "game" would work exactly once with my grand kids.
