SailorSam, with all the safety devices these days, make sure you open the propane tank SLOWLY, and then the same with the control knob on the appliance, open it a bit more slowly to the light position.

These tanks or appliances have safety devices that choke the propane supply down if it senses a sudden outflow of propane.

Just a thought.

My grill works great when I hook up to my trailers propane using Propane Gear's adapter. However at home, the provided adapter/regulator doesn't pass enough gas () to get the griddle really hot. Flame is noticeably smaller. Griddle generally only gets to about 350 degrees.
Anyone else notice this or have an idea on how to fix?
This is a popular subject and complaint on the Blackstone FB pages. There are several suggestions that range from replacing the regulator to turning it on very slowly. There is a previous post that identifies the problem and that is a sudden flow of gas triggers the safety in the regulator to restrict the flow of gas.
What I have found that works for me on my 22" is to turn on the propane and leave it for 10-15 minutes or so and the regulator resets. Pain in the neck for sure, but cheaper than replacing the regulator and I like the Blackstone enough to put up with this minor issue.

Thanks everyone...

I disconnected the 20 lb tank and tried a small tank with the regulator. Good, hot flame. So I took the small tank off, reconnected to the 20lb. Opened the tank VERY slowly. Again good, hot flame.

So, I'll go with the idea that the cheap Chinese regulator, or the rubber hose allows to fast of an initial flow of gas that activates the "safety" valve in the big tank.
I have left the grill connected with the tank valve open for quite a while (overnight), which did not solve the issue for me.

I want to swap on the electric griddle, but I have no clue which one to choose. Maybe somebody know a good review about them? Thanks in advance!

Do you mean that you want to switch from an electric griddle to a propane griddle? If switching to propane, which is the way to go, most of us use the Blackstone. I was so happy with my 17" tabletop Blackstone that I bought a 28" Blackstone on a cart for the house. If you get a Blackstone you won't be disappointed. For reviews on different brands and prices do a search on Amazon.

After using a 17" Blackstone, I can see the benefit of a 22" where you have 2 temp controls. The 17" size is perfect for 2 or 3 people though.

I'm gonna wind up with every size Blackstone make it seems.

Got the 22" for camping at cooking at the lake. Bought a 17" to mount on the front of my pontoon boat, because let's face it... ANYTHING cooked on a Blackstone beats the crap outta soggy cold-cuts when out on boat all day.

Leaning heavily towards getting that big sucker they offer (28"??) that has the side burner and deep fryer for the house. I'm half tempted to put in an indoor flattop in the kitchen...

I use a Camp-Chef 3 burner stove with a small bbq grill on the left burner and a small griddle on the right burner and the center burner is still available for heating up stuff in pots . We only cook indoors if its really cold outside other wise its an out door thing for us .

Blackstone admirer

We bought our 22 inch grill in the spring of 19. Since we have had it on a table by the back door along side the Q2000 Weber at all times. EXCEPT when we take the both of them camping. Can't leave home without them.

Had a friend (I think his wife order it without his "permission") buy a 17 inch model. He used it one or maybe two camp trips. The next thing we know it is listed on the local FB yard sale site for sale. He told me it was just one more thing to pack. He didn't keep it long enough to get it seasoned good or learn how good it works.

We bought a 22” griddle this year for our trailer. We love it so much that we use the griddle at home and with our trailer. I have not touched the grill and may even chuck it into a scrapyard.

I don't miss the grill because I take the Blackstone 17" griddle, small charcoal grill, and the Coleman stove on every trip. We have to pack light, but the Blackstone is the heaviest of the three. The griddle is great for some things, but burgers, hot dogs, or a steak need charcoal grilling for the best flavor! The griddle is excellent for breakfast or tacos or pork chops and sweet potatoes. I've never liked a gas grill for anything, although I know a lot of people like the convenience.

I love my 22" Blackstone. We stopped bringing a grill and still travel with a dutch oven, but the Blackstone is the go-to for everything and anything. We make breakfast, steak & cheese, burgers, dogs, you name it, we cook it on the flat top.

I’ve had a blackstone, it does a good job. But my answer to the grill/griddle/stove issue is simple. This
