Week in Destin, Florida a Destin RV Resort in Miramar beach . First time pulling rig with new to me truck, 1500 miles round trip. Love the resort, been there three years in a row., probably won't go back. It was $127.00 a night, they are now charging fees for electric and water hook up. Guy in office said that starting to meter the electric and bill your credit card after you leave. First time I have heard of a campground doing that.
Found a new campground just down the street called Geronimo RV. Does anyone have any experience with it, thanks

Nah... just lump everyone into the snowbird category and blame them.

We stayed at Camp Gulf in Destin for 2 weeks in November of 2016. We will go back again sometime.
At $127 a night and charging for electric use is quite ridiculous. They are either going to price themselves out of business or only the wealthy class will be staying there!

Not to change the subject here, but I posted about this very thing a few months back and got raked over the coals because I suggested such a thing.
This is already happening here out west and is apparently working back east.
I traveled in South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona for six months and I can count on one hand the number of RV parks that didn't charge extra for electric on stays longer than two or three days.
Campgrounds are getting hip to all of our electric heaters, heat pumps and cheap heat systems, triple AC units in our RV's, and electric fireplaces and are going to charge us for using them.
Anyway...back to the photos!

We frequent the area due to the short 2 hour drive from St. Louis, I have been to giant city many times. Went to school at Siuc, worked at Jim pearl Cadillac for a few years too while working my way through college. We spend a good bit of time at rend and Carlyle lake when we can. Need to check out Giant city for camping next time!

Hey Chris.
Looks like a nice site. We're headed there in July for 7 nights as part of our 30 day loop from AL, to NC, to WVA, to PA, to the Int'l Rally in Goshen, and finally back to AL. We've got reservations for Poplar Point CG, site C025.

I have seen several with 5 a/c units. I read where some of these busses have two 50 amp cords and prolly a 15KW generator. I swear I saw one with 7 one time...but they may have been something else and confusing.

Recognize your rig at your campsite at Rend Lake. We were right above you at site 191 at the same time.

Giant City SP is one of our favorite campgrounds in Southern IL. Lot of trails to check out. The Wine Trail is pretty neat too. Great towns to visit too, like Cobdin. There's a great grocery on the outskirts of Carbondale called Arnold's with a great butcher shop.
