Only a few miles separates these 2 State Parks. Topsail is a much larger campground, and offers cable tv and a swimming pool. We like both equally. Grayton Beach is much smaller, and more of an “Old Florida” feel to it. You won’t go wrong with either.

Grayton has a parking lot at the beach with a short track over the dune to the beach. We couldn’t get into Grayton this year and had to settle for Top Sail. We would drive every day to Grayton to not bother with the crowded tram.

We are here a day early for the Fulltime Families rally at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. The actual Fiesta doesn’t start until later in the week, but we are rallying ahead of time.

I agree but understand the circumstances.

Doug, the awning poles look good.
Do I understand correctly too that you have NO hookups during this stay?

We were able to attend the 2018 Florida FROG at Williston Crossings and thought the campground was nice we didn't attend in 2019 and we have been hearing numerous negatives about the park this year perhaps next year a change in venue maybe considered ?

Yeah, you’re parked nuts to butts here! Fortunately we are in an outside edge with no one behind us.

Not a garden spot here! Clines Corners, NM for one night. A large, level gravel lot. But hey! $21.34 for FHU site. Good for a one nighter while passing through.

I’m fairly positive that’s what most NM RV parks are like!

Chain-O Lakes State Park in NE Illinois. Spent 3 days (F-M). Usually very crowded on weekends but once school starts like most campgrounds they are pretty open. Took pics on Monday when we had the place mostly to ourselves.
Electrical at 2 of the 4 open loops (one loop is closed) and restrooms...fair at best, has 2 dump stations and a lot of good trails to walk.

Branches of Niagara Campground Grand Island, NY. Site #77. Nice sites with some having concrete pads and others with grass. Fairly new place.

A bit soggy today from heavy rains last night.
Our 30a receptacle is burned/melted so I'm using a 50a to 30a adapter. I will let the maintainence folks know. Here till Sunday.

Misty River Campground, C-9, Walland, TN. We were here last week end for a Heritage Festival, Bluegrass Music and of course a trip through Cades Cove.

I know some here don't like the place but our grandkids love it and the fact that it offers cabins and tent sites suited our kids.

I know of one that's not. Then again, it's not on most RV owner's list as it's located in the NRA Whittington Center near Raton, NM.

Their RV park is open to anyone regardless of whether they're using any one of the dozen ranges. ~$35/night for FHU with 50amp. Sites are gravel but most have a tree or two next to them, great views, good OTA TV, WiFi.

Actual gun ranges are far enough away the noise is no worse than kids playing with firecrackers a dozen blocks or more away.

For non target shooters the "Center" is 33,300 acres and less than 10% is developed.

While there (for the ranges of course) I met more people in the RV park that were there for the wildlife viewing (Deer come into the campground along with wild turkeys) and lots of bird watching.

They even have their own Ghost Town, the old Coal Mining town of Van Houghten. The land also straddles the old Santa Fe trail with a historic marker on the entrance road.

In short, it's not just a shooting range but a great outdoor experience as well. They post the competition schedules on their website so one can check to see how busy they'll be and availability of campsites.

Place is also very "Big Rig Friendly".
