If you ride your bikes there watch out! Everything in Las Cruces bites or has thorns! We went through tons of tubes. If you have Tubeless with Stan's or Orange Seal it's the way to go.

Thanks for the warning. We are only here a couple of days and it's been cold, so the bikes haven't come down!

Ortona South Recreational Area, Moore Haven FL

First time in a federal park ... open area (winds were whipping preventing any successful fishing here). Was able to watch the locks work for travelers crossing the state. Few otters & a resident bald eagle, nice sunsets. Sites were open & clean, people really nice. Jan 3-6, 2016

Myakka River State Park, Sarasota FL

Spent Jan 6-9 camping, bicycling, hiking (treetop canopy bridge), photographing (follow the last set of photos into the close up) & fishing (10 really big tilapia in less than 40 minutes on our last night... ran out of worms or the freezer would have been full on this invasive species). Truly a beautiful FL state park...Myakka River site 88

My 2016 campsite

Yea, I know... It's more of a permanent place, but we do pull it out from time to time.

Nothing wrong with a permanent spot if you like it!

Today we are at a crappy little overnighter park. $13.50 with our escapees membership. Very nice lady running the place.

Caverns of Sonora for 2 nights. Pretty cozy pull thrus and it isn't long enough for my truck and camper. But hey- we are in. No AT&T service, but Verizon is decent.

I agree.
There's one cg up here that we frequent. We once had a dp pull in beside us, I almost had to retract my awning a bit, he was that close.

Tonight through Sunday, we are in Austin, TX at Oak Forest RV Park on 1/2-have of a buddy site. Problem is, we don't know our buddy and it was the only site open in the campground.

Loaura- sorry that we missed you! I have a buddy who lives there, so we visited with him a bit. We didn't do much other than a couple of dinners out, IKEA, and the graffiti park.

Now we've moved on down the road and are just outside of Houston in Spring, TX at Rayford Crossing. Very nice place- I'd love to come back to spend some time here.

Union Grove Park, Salado TX on Lake Belton. Small COE park, only 15 RV spots and the tent loop is closed for winter it seems. I feel like we got the best spot in the park (#2). Big space. Faces lake.
