We decided to put the Chappy through wet weather trials this weekend. We had reservations and then they predicted 5-7 inches of rain this weekend. We went anyway.

Coles Creek CG, Lake Carlyle Illinois. A fantastic little COE CG.

Tried one of those when the kids were younger, better off with an MRE, astronaut food was bad

Coles Creek is a great CG. Plan on being there in a couple of more weeks. If it's not flooded!

Our first outing of 2017 this weekend (4/28/17) - Pine Grove Furnace State Park PA - had some rain, but overall it was great weekend. As it was only DH and myself, we left the front bunk closed.

The lake is still pretty low, although a little higher after 4 inches of rain. None of the roads in or out were flooded this weekend despite the heavy rain. There were some trees down in Carlyle Friday night, but they had most of it cleared by noon on Saturday.

Enjoy. Site 26 and 28 are some of the best there.

My local dealership will install the three step version for $400 total.

A lot of the new rigs we saw at a recent RV show already have them. 500 pound weight limit, and they won't shake the trailer like the pull out steps do when someone is entering and exiting.

I'm going to keep the factory steps and put them back on when I trade in the camper.

Paul Bunyan Campground, Bangor, Maine. First trip out this year, by default. I had to have the camper out of storage by May 1. With the backyard still like a sponge for snow melt and another 3 inches or so rain this coming week, I decided to put at a campground 15 minutes away. Spent the weekend and will next weekend as well.

Did you retire from Bangor FD? I had a friend that worked for them.
