Looking for Patriotic Site Decoration ideas

We like to keep with the patriotic theme for our camp site. Somehow we even won a site decorating contest even using the cheap plastic stuff (plastic flag banners, windsock, flags on sticks). Our ladder ball is home made and red, white and blue as well. Looking for some higher-quality items (maybe more rustic looking).

Inspire me!!! Show me some of your site photos! :-)

I'm going to ruffle some feathers here, but the design of the flag on anything other than the flag, or a button, lapel pin worn by a person who has a family member in the armed forces, or a patch worn by a member of the armed forces, police or fire department is in violation of the U.S Flag Code.

Have known that for years, and have never heard of anyone ever enforcing that code.

Will take my chances. Then again, two tours in Vietnam make me deplorable. LOL

Not to semi-change the subject but, we always fly the American Flag at our campsite (except in really windy conditions). When I was a kid camping with my parents 50 years ago, I recall almost everybody flying the flag at their sites. Today, I find it a real shame that I only see 1 in 25 or 30 sites flying the American Flag. It is such a shame! Congrats on your Patriotic Site!

Thank you! My husband and I believe we shouldn't save patriotism solely for Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Independence Day. We're patriotic all year :-) as it should be!

I think that is IF it is an actual 50-star US of A flag. In that regard, I heard recently that Disney does not use official flags to fly in the parks so they can avoid issues with not illuminating at night and other issues of respect. They look like US of A flags but they are not.

I need to check this out when down at Disney next.

Disney does fly a large American Flag at the entrance but the flags on the buildings of Main Street are each missing either a star or a stripe. You need to look closely.

Another Viet Nam vet, and patriot. I'm all for the flag and displaying it. Although I don't have the same taste in decor that you have, I none the less salute you for your heart.

If you are going to fly an AMERICAN Flag, fly the actua Flag, not something with a star or stripe missing. Disney makes enough money to retire and replace when needed.

Flag Code!!?? There's a code? You mean I can't hang out a flag overnight, in the dark or leave it up until it's faded and torn? I can't drape it over my porch rail or suspend it any ol' way from my mailbox? But...but...I'm a patriot.
